This is a 1-hour experience in Tokyo. It is run by watashino, an operator we book with directly rather than through a reseller, which is why we can hold your place with them before we treat your booking as final.

Tokyo is the largest city on earth by metropolitan population and it is best seen as a set of neighbourhoods on the Yamanote loop line rather than one place. Asakusa has Senso-ji, the city's oldest temple, and Nakamise's shopping lane; Shibuya has the scramble crossing and Shinjuku the bars of Golden Gai and Omoide Yokocho; Harajuku is Takeshita Street and Meiji Shrine's forest; Akihabara is electronics and anime; Ginza is department stores and sushi counters. Everything runs on time and the last trains are around midnight. Cash still matters in small restaurants, an IC card covers every train and bus, and tipping is not done anywhere.

Wonderful experience making paper here! My 10 year old joined me and enjoyed it too. The instructor spoke wonderful English, was informative and friendly too. Took time to photograph us doing each stage. Really fun and unique craft activity

I had an amazing time at this handmade Japanese paper workshop in Asakusa. The instructor, Hiroyuki, was fantastic—incredibly welcoming, knowledgeable, and patient throughout the entire process. It was a wonderful, authentic craft experience. Highly recommended if you are visiting Tokyo!

An amazing experience and were able to see just how intricate it is when making the paper. We intend to use the paper for collecting shrine and temple stamps. The instructor was incredibly helpful and super friendly which made the experience even more special! Would definitely recommend to anyone

This handmade Japanese paper workshop was amazing. The whole workshop was well set out, Kazu our instructor was very knowledgeable about the history of paper making and the link to Japanese culture and was very kind and patient when teaching us. Definitely recommend

The activity was amazing! The host was so accommodating and adjusted his approach to cater for our 6yr old and for the adults in the group. It was a brilliant thing to do as a family, especially if you are into crafts or enjoy a hands on approach to local history. Would definitely recommend if you are in the area.
