Tokyo Night Walk: Shibuya and Shinjuku Hidden Alleys by Local Operator
Full description
This is a 3-hour experience in Tokyo, built around Shibuya Crossing, Shibuya City and Subway / metro. It is run by Cornwall Ltd, an operator we book with directly rather than through a reseller, which is why we can hold your place with them before we treat your booking as final.
Tokyo is the largest city on earth by metropolitan population and it is best seen as a set of neighbourhoods on the Yamanote loop line rather than one place. Asakusa has Senso-ji, the city's oldest temple, and Nakamise's shopping lane; Shibuya has the scramble crossing and Shinjuku the bars of Golden Gai and Omoide Yokocho; Harajuku is Takeshita Street and Meiji Shrine's forest; Akihabara is electronics and anime; Ginza is department stores and sushi counters. Everything runs on time and the last trains are around midnight. Cash still matters in small restaurants, an IC card covers every train and bus, and tipping is not done anywhere.
The price covers guide and Cultural explanations. It does not cover Drinks and meals, so budget for those separately. Everything included is listed in full on this page; if something is not on that list, assume it is not in the price.
Hachiko Statue. We need at least one day's notice, and we confirm the date with Cornwall Ltd before treating your booking as final. If they cannot take your date we tell you and refund you rather than leave you waiting.

Traveler Reviews
The Shimon was excellent. The tout was very informative. We visited places I would have never thought to visit. Shimon was a wealth of information. You should participate in this tour.
Kenta was a knowledgable and informative guide. We would never have found the various establisments that he took us to some of which were down narrow alleys. An excellent tour from a friendly guide who spoke good English.
This was a once in a lifetime experience. I was privileged to be treated to a private tour with Shimon who is highly educated & very informative. He was willing to tailor the tour to suit my interests & we were able to chat about a lot - both being history majors. He knows so much about Japanese history & of interest of course is all of the inside story on Tokyo. The tour area is colourful & interesting & you get personal recommendations from an insider on where to eat & what to see in Tokyo - all invaluable info. Brilliant.
Great tour friendly and knowledgeable guide, enjoyable walk and interesting sites. Highly recommended for first time visitors
I was very lucky to be only öne participant at the tour. Shimon was Great. He answered my hundreds of questions. He speaks Great English. Ahistiry teacher, friendly and very culrured. Thank you.
Thank you Shimon for a very interesting tour. Shimon is very entertaining and knowledgeable both about the locations we visited and about the history of Japan. He took us to several less visited and interesting places. We finished the evening, after much walking, in a tiny 6 customer upstairs traditional bar chatting further with him and the bar owner. All-in-all an excellent tour to do.
Extra 2 men’s was very interesting and gentlemen I recommend them any time Many thanks
Absolutely perfect! Kenta was amazing and provided an exceptional experience. Showed me areas of Shibuya and Shinjuku I would not have even known to look for. great company, great info, there's nothing more I could have asked for in a guided tour. Cannot offer enough thanks or say enough good things about this experience!
my tour guide ryuta and inoueson were great and they really listened to my interests and found stuff to internet me which I appreciated and showed things I would never have thought to look forward. if you want a great tour to get a really cool experience this is worth checking out.
Great,nothing to improve.
