This is a 2-hour experience in Tokyo. It is run by H.I.S. Co Ltd(TIC), an operator we book with directly rather than through a reseller, which is why we can hold your place with them before we treat your booking as final.

Tokyo is the largest city on earth by metropolitan population and it is best seen as a set of neighbourhoods on the Yamanote loop line rather than one place. Asakusa has Senso-ji, the city's oldest temple, and Nakamise's shopping lane; Shibuya has the scramble crossing and Shinjuku the bars of Golden Gai and Omoide Yokocho; Harajuku is Takeshita Street and Meiji Shrine's forest; Akihabara is electronics and anime; Ginza is department stores and sushi counters. Everything runs on time and the last trains are around midnight. Cash still matters in small restaurants, an IC card covers every train and bus, and tipping is not done anywhere.

Absolutely Incredible instruction and experience with a bokken and samurai sword. Found it to be one of the most inviting events so far from our trip here. Absolutely loved the calligraphy portion and sword stance demonstration, truly insightful!

This ended up being a one on one tour. I had an absolute blast learning traditional Japanese Sword forms and using the bokken. I also enjoyed the calligraphy session and the tea ceremony.

It was so fun, we got to do a bit over everything which is what I was looking forward to. kendo, tatami mat cutting calligraphy and we also go to try some matcha tea and buns which is such a tasty combination. overall its really nice experience and I would definitely do it again.

It was amazing! They are super friendly and explain to you the samurai spirit. It was so exciting to handle the katana and learn the stance. The tea ceremony is also very fun and the writing was pretty relaxing. Great experience and worth every yen

It was an amazing experience. I got so many emotions from practicing with katanas and doing actual katana cutting. The sensei is a true professional. I really enjoyed the atmosphere and the authenticity of the training.

The activity was amazing. I booked it for my husband, as. birthday present. The activity was held in a cultural room, which added to the experience, and provided traditional outfit. The instructor, Naoto, was detailed and took his time to explain, and always with a smile. We took the upgraded version, which meant able to cut paper and tatami rolls with real blade. This was the best experience of the whole activity!

Truly one of the highlights of my trip to Japan. I had a great time learning the way of the samurai—dueling, and using the sword to cut through paper and bamboo. We ended the experience with relaxing calligraphy and tea. Both the instructor and guide were incredibly welcoming and made the entire experience enjoyable, guiding every step of the way!
