Full description
This is a 75-minute experience in Tokyo. It is run by Japan Wonder Travel, an operator we book with directly rather than through a reseller, which is why we can hold your place with them before we treat your booking as final.
Tokyo's wholesale fish market moved from Tsukiji to Toyosu in 2018, but the Tsukiji Outer Market, the lanes of shops and stalls around the old site, stayed and is where the food walks go: tamagoyaki on a stick, tuna cuts, uni, grilled scallops and knife shops, busiest from about 8:00 to 11:00 and closed on Sundays and some Wednesdays. The tuna auction itself is at Toyosu, watched from a viewing deck before 6:30 with an advance lottery. Sushi classes teach shari, the vinegared rice, and the hand pressure of nigiri; most run two to three hours and you eat what you make.
The price covers The sushi you make, Fresh ingredients, sushi master, host and Additional sushi made by the master. It does not cover Extra food and drink, Hotel pickup and drop-off, Guidance through the market and Sashimi, Sushi & Sake Pairing class" does not include a, so budget for those separately. Everything included is listed in full on this page; if something is not on that list, assume it is not in the price.

Class was very interesting and very informative. Chef Sato was very nice and helpful with making Sushi. Yugi was a very good host in translating. Highly recommend this class we have learned so many techniques.
Fantastic sushi-making experience! The sushi master was excellent, with great instructions and useful tips and tricks. The translator was also very helpful and made everything easy to understand. The fish and rice were of excellent quality, using fresh local market products. The organization was top-notch, and the group size of 8 was perfect. The room was clean, bright, and spacious, and the pace was just right—not too fast, but still engaging.
Fun and engaging. Our guide and teachers were super friendly and helpful. We loved it!

loved it!! sushi making was really fun. the tour of the market was informative and interesting.
Incredible experience! Our group got to learn so much about the Japanese culture and history behind sushi making and experiences. Miky, our host and Kate, our sushi master made it such a memorable class and truly created such a fun environment full of laughter, fun, and connection. Not to mention the fish & ingredients themselves were so FRESH and delicious. If you are looking for a sushi making class in Tokyo I HIGHLY recommend 🤍
This was a great, fun activity with some history about sushi and great teachers showing you how to make each one..and the best bit getting to eat it all at the end with the option to buy a little saki to wash it down with! Kate and Maddie were great hosts/teachers. The class takes place in the Tsukiji market which is worth spending some time walking round to sample some other foods.
The class with Kate and Satoko was excellent. Loved the way it’s demo’ed and how we made sushi ourselves. Kate was a good chef and the fresh wasabi tasted great.
