This is a 1.5-hour experience in Tokyo. It is run by Gappy, an operator we book with directly rather than through a reseller, which is why we can hold your place with them before we treat your booking as final.

Tokyo is the largest city on earth by metropolitan population and it is best seen as a set of neighbourhoods on the Yamanote loop line rather than one place. Asakusa has Senso-ji, the city's oldest temple, and Nakamise's shopping lane; Shibuya has the scramble crossing and Shinjuku the bars of Golden Gai and Omoide Yokocho; Harajuku is Takeshita Street and Meiji Shrine's forest; Akihabara is electronics and anime; Ginza is department stores and sushi counters. Everything runs on time and the last trains are around midnight. Cash still matters in small restaurants, an IC card covers every train and bus, and tipping is not done anywhere.

Kanta was an amazing guide and showed us so many places on the tour. Very engaging and knowledgeable with facts relating to all the places we stopped at. Would definitely recommend a tour with Kanta on your travels through Tokyo. Without the help of Kanta I'm not sure we would have found some of the spots.

We had an amazing time with Kanta and Amy. They were easy to communicate with (in person and via Whatsapp) making the tour smooth and enjoyable. The tour itself was informative, easy to follow and gave a good mix of information about Akihabara and some real hidden gems and quirkiness of Japanese vending machine culture. Taking us to places we would have missed if we had done it ourselves! The matcha machine and weird machine corner were real highlights. We loved visiting the shrine as an extra added bonus. Thank you for an awesome experience.

As well as introducing us to the vending machines, we explored the area through Japanese eyes and learned a lot about Japanese culture. Kanta, our guide, spoke excellent English and answered all our questions. Thoroughly recommend it.

Die Tour war sehr abwechslungsreich. Wir haben viele verschiedene Automaten gesehen, Relikte aus den 1980'er Jahren, Dinge die man nur im Winter kauft, Dinge die man sammeln kann und eine Vielzahl an verschiedenen Getränken. Verschiedene Dinge haben wir probiert. Shimon hat außerdem sehr bildlich historische Geschichten über das Stadtviertel erzählt. Unsere Erwartungen wurden mehr als erfüllt.
