Full description
This is the ride for people who have already done the landmarks, or who never wanted them. It heads into Shitamachi — the 'low city' — where the lanes are too narrow for coaches, the buildings are two storeys of wood and tile, and daily life still runs at a neighbourhood pace.
Yanaka is the centrepiece. It largely escaped both the 1923 earthquake and the wartime firebombing that flattened most of eastern Tokyo, so what stands there is genuinely old rather than reconstructed: temple walls, wooden houses, a shopping street where people still buy their dinner from individual butchers and pickle shops, and a resident cat population that has become the district's unofficial mascot.
Nezu and Sendagi round out the loop with quiet shrine grounds and back lanes, while Kagurazaka brings in the stone-paved geisha alleys that turned into one of the city's better eating districts.
A bike is the right tool here specifically because the area is a maze. On foot you see one street; by bike you can wander the whole grid, and your guide knows which turnings are worth taking.

Detailed Itinerary
Fitting and the road-rules briefing take the first twenty minutes, same as the landmarks ride. The e-bike is the easier choice — this route has more stop-start riding than the central one.
Yanaka takes the biggest share of the afternoon and deserves it. The guide threads the temple lanes, stops at the older wooden buildings and gives you time on Yanaka Ginza, which is a genuine local shopping street rather than a tourist one — the croquettes are worth the stop.
Nezu and Sendagi follow at an easy pace through residential lanes and shrine grounds. Kagurazaka closes the ride on stone paving, and the guide will point out which of the alley restaurants are worth coming back to for dinner.

Miguel & Sho were two great guides who knew a lot about the city. Good Bianchi bike, we cycled a lot but in a safe way. Recommended if you like cycling, electric bikes are also available. It's nice that the end point is somewhere other than the start point, which offers the opportunity to see more of Tokyo.
