Full description
This is a 2.5-hour experience from Tokyo, built around Yasukuni Shrine, Yushukan Museum and Chidorigafuchi. It is run by DeepExperience, Inc., an operator we book with directly rather than through a reseller, which is why we can hold your place with them before we treat your booking as final.
Tokyo is the largest city on earth by metropolitan population and it is best seen as a set of neighbourhoods on the Yamanote loop line rather than one place. Asakusa has Senso-ji, the city's oldest temple, and Nakamise's shopping lane; Shibuya has the scramble crossing and Shinjuku the bars of Golden Gai and Omoide Yokocho; Harajuku is Takeshita Street and Meiji Shrine's forest; Akihabara is electronics and anime; Ginza is department stores and sushi counters. Everything runs on time and the last trains are around midnight. Cash still matters in small restaurants, an IC card covers every train and bus, and tipping is not done anywhere.
The price covers Private guided tour, Licensed English-speaking guide, Guided visit to Yasukuni Shrine, Guided visit inside the Yushukan War Museum and Yushukan War Museum admission fee. It does not cover Food and drinks and Transportation to and from the meeting point, so budget for those separately. Everything included is listed in full on this page; if something is not on that list, assume it is not in the price.
靖國神社 第一鳥居(大鳥居). We need at least one day's notice, and we confirm the date with DeepExperience, Inc. before treating your booking as final. If they cannot take your date we tell you and refund you rather than leave you waiting.

Traveler Reviews
We recently went on a tour with Mari Hokida . Mari gave a sensitive and informative tour of the shrine. The highlight was the Japanese perspective of the 20th century. Mari Hokida is highly recommended.
Kyo is such an excellent guide. The tour felt natural, the pacing is really good, and explains really well. I 100% recommend this!
I learned so much, I love history and study it a lot and I was still learning new things.
Very interesting tour! Kyo was super nice and informative! Thank you!
tatsuo was very knowledgeable and taught me alot about Japan's history
Extremely interesting. Very experienced guide, a lot of interesting and new information provided. The history of Japan from early times to nowadays, with unique artefacts, photographs and documents exhibited in the museum. For instance, do you know why you should walk on the left side of the pavement or stand the left side of the escalators? No, not related to driving in Japan, the rule is way before cars existed. Take the tour to find out 🙂
Kyo was a wonderful and patient guide that took things at my pace. Offered not just insightful information regarding the tour, but we also exchanged stories about our own countries.
le shrine était magnifique et le musée avec les différentes guerres japonaises au court des siècles était intéressant.
Not more than pointing out where the shrine was, explaining that he could not speak inside the museum, buying the tickets and pointing out where the toilets are. Basically useless as we took a taxi to the location. Guide could not explain why we hired him and that we had to take this up with the office. Suppose this is done by this review.
great museum and amazing guide
Our guide, Minoru-san, was a good guide whp provided a balanced overview of the shrine history. He was professional - waiting at the meeting point even before our meeting time. He also patiently responded to our questions. This has been an insightful tour in the Tokyo.
A very nice guide! We really enjoyed the tour!
