Full description
A 16-day trip out of Lumbini taking in Day 01, Day 02, Day 03 and Day 04. There are 16 stops in all.
The running order is Day 01, then Day 02, then Day 03, then Day 04, then Day 05:, and on from there.
The price covers airport pickup and drop-off, 15 nights of hotel/lodge accommodation, All meals, including breakfast, lunch, and dinner and Private transportation throughout the tour. It does not cover lunch and dinner in Kathmandu, Pokhara, and Lumbini, International flights and Travel insurance, so budget for those separately.
Tour Itinerary
The schedule below is a suggested plan and can be adjusted to suit your preferences.
Day 01
Arrive in Kathmandu, where you will be welcomed and transferred to your hotel. Take some time to relax and settle in. In the evening, meet your guide for a briefing about the upcoming wildlife adventure.
Day 02
After breakfast, drive from Kathmandu toward eastern Nepal and continue to Koshi Tappu Wildlife Reserve. The journey takes you through changing landscapes as you enter Nepal’s Terai region. Upon arrival, check in at your lodge and enjoy some time to relax.
Day 03
Spend the full day exploring Koshi Tappu and its surrounding wetlands. Enjoy wildlife observation and birdwatching, with opportunities to photograph a wide variety of resident and migratory birds. The reserve is particularly renowned for its rich birdlife and wetland ecosystem.
Day 04
After breakfast, drive west to Chitwan National Park. Upon arrival, check in at your accommodation and enjoy some leisure time. Depending on your arrival time, you may have an opportunity for a short nature activity or sunset experience.
Day 05:
Begin the day with a peaceful canoe ride along the river, where you can observe crocodiles, water birds, and other wildlife. Continue with birdwatching and a guided jungle walk through the forest, learning about the park’s flora and fauna. In the afternoon, enjoy a half-day jeep safari in search of rhinos, deer, wild boars, monkeys, and other wildlife.
Day 06
Enjoy a full-day jeep safari deep inside Chitwan National Park. Explore different habitats and wildlife areas with an experienced nature guide. Keep your camera ready for encounters with the greater one-horned rhinoceros, spotted deer, wild boar, sloth bears, crocodiles, birds, and, with luck, the elusive Bengal tiger.
Day 07
After breakfast, drive west toward Bardia National Park, one of Nepal’s best destinations for authentic jungle experiences and tiger sightings. Upon arrival, check in to your lodge and relax.
Day 08
Spend the day exploring Bardia National Park through guided jungle activities and safari experiences. Bardia is home to Bengal tigers, wild elephants, one-horned rhinoceroses, swamp deer, wild boars, crocodiles, and numerous bird species. Enjoy excellent opportunities for wildlife observation and photography.
Day 09
Another full day to explore the diverse habitats of Bardia. Enjoy further safari activities and wildlife tracking with your experienced guide. This is an excellent opportunity to focus on wildlife photography and search for species you may not have encountered on previous safari days.
Day 10
After breakfast, drive farther west to Shuklaphanta National Park. This remote and less-visited national park is famous for its extensive grasslands, swamp deer, rich birdlife, and opportunities to encounter Bengal tigers and other wildlife.
Day 11
Spend the day exploring Shuklaphanta National Park. Enjoy wildlife observation, birdwatching, and safari activities across its grasslands and forest areas. The park offers a quieter and more remote wildlife experience, making it particularly attractive to photographers and serious wildlife enthusiasts.
Day 12
After breakfast, drive toward Lumbini, the birthplace of Lord Buddha. Upon arrival, check in to your hotel and enjoy some leisure time. If time permits, explore the peaceful surroundings of the Lumbini development area.
Day 13
After breakfast, drive from Lumbini to Pokhara, one of Nepal’s most scenic destinations. Enjoy the changing landscapes as you travel from the Terai toward the foothills of the Himalayas. Upon arrival, check in and relax.
Day 14
Enjoy a full day exploring the highlights of Pokhara. Visit the beautiful Phewa Lake, explore the lakeside area, and enjoy spectacular views of the Annapurna and Dhaulagiri mountain ranges when weather permits. The day provides a relaxing contrast after your extensive wildlife adventure.
Day 15
After breakfast, drive back to Kathmandu. Upon arrival, check in to your hotel and enjoy your final evening in Nepal. You may spend the evening shopping for souvenirs or relaxing before your international departure.
Day 16
Enjoy breakfast at the hotel and prepare for your onward journey. Transfer to the airport for your departure, marking the end of your Tarai & Tigers: Nepal Wildlife Experience.
