Tour Itinerary
The schedule below is a suggested plan and can be adjusted to suit your preferences.
Fly to Pokhara; Drive → Tikhedhunga; Trek → Ulleri (2,050 m)
After breakfast, fly 30 minutes from Kathmandu to Pokhara (860 m), with views of Manaslu, the Annapurnas and Machhapuchhre on clear mornings. Drive via Bhirethati and Hille to Tikhedhunga (1,425 m), then climb stone steps through terraced fields and forest to Ulleri (2,050 m), a 1.5-hour, 600-metre ascent. This Magar village faces Annapurna South and Machhapuchhre. An evening briefing with your female guide covers the route, women's health guidelines for altitude and safety. Overnight in Ulleri.
Ulleri → Ghorepani (2,885 m)
Wake to views of the Annapurnas and Machhapuchhre from Ulleri. After breakfast, climb gently through rhododendron and pine forest that blooms pink, crimson and white in March and April. Our female guides lead the way on this steady, rhythmic ascent. A final climb passes Ghorepani's gate to Deurali, its upper section of blue-painted lodges. Ghorepani (2,885 m) looks west to the Dhaulagiri range and sits below Poon Hill. Rest early before tomorrow's pre-dawn climb.
Morning hike to Poon Hill and trek to Tadapani (2,640 m)
Rise at 4:30–5:00 AM for the one-hour headlamp climb to Poon Hill (3,210 m). From the view tower, watch sunrise light Dhaulagiri (8,167 m), Annapurna I, Annapurna South, Gangapurna and Machhapuchhre in one 180-degree sweep. After breakfast in Ghorepani, walk through forest to Deurali hilltop, descend a gorge to Banthati for lunch, then continue up and down to Tadapani (2,640 m), a quiet woodland settlement beneath the Annapurnas. Overnight in Tadapani.
Tadapani → Chomrong (1,940 m)
Leave Tadapani's Annapurna vista on a long, steady descent through dense rhododendron forest. Cross the Kimrong Khola bridge, climb steeply to Gurjung village for a rest, then follow a stone-paved path to Chomrong (1,940 m). This large Gurung village is the last permanent settlement before ABC, with good lodges, great food and close Annapurna views. Many tea houses are run by Gurung women, and our all-female team connects easily with them.
Chhomrong → Sinuwa → Bamboo (2,610 m)
Descend from Chhomrong to cross the river, then climb to Sinuwa Danda, a ridge-top settlement with wide views and a lunch stop. From Sinuwa, the trail enters the Modi Khola gorge, winding up and down through bamboo groves and pine forest with the river below. A short descent reaches Bamboo (2,610 m), with comfortable lodges deep in the gorge. The peaks disappear from view here; the forest closes in, and you walk inside the landscape rather than looking at it.
Bamboo → Dovan → Himalaya Hotel → Deurali (3,175 m)
Follow the Modi River upstream through thick forest to Dovan, a small stop with a few lodges, then climb on to Himalaya Hotel for a rest. Beyond, the trail crosses rocky moraine from old Hiunchuli avalanches before a short steep climb to the plateau at Deurali (3,175 m). Here the gorge begins to open toward the sanctuary. Tomorrow's morning health check is vital: your female guide assesses each woman's response to altitude, and anyone with serious symptoms rests before continuing.
Deurali → MBC (3,700 m) → Annapurna Base Camp (4,130 m)
After breakfast, climb beside the Modi River as bamboo gives way to shrubs. Reach Machhapuchhre Base Camp (3,700 m), beneath the Fishtail's towering northwest face. A grassy slope then leads into the Annapurna Sanctuary, ringed by giant peaks, and on to Annapurna Base Camp (4,130 m) below Annapurna I. Spend the afternoon taking in Gangapurna, Annapurna South, Hiunchuli, Tent Peak and Machhapuchhre, and celebrate arriving on your own feet, guided entirely by women.
ABC → MBC → Deurali → Dovan → Bamboo (2,050 m)
Nobody leaves ABC before sunrise. Watch first light sweep amber, gold, then white across the glacial amphitheatre as the sun clears the eastern ridge. After breakfast, begin the longest day of the trek, descending past MBC to Deurali, then through Himalaya Hotel and Dovan with a few short climbs. Reach Bamboo for afternoon tea, rest and dinner after a long, rewarding day that retraces the gorge you climbed. Overnight in Bamboo.
Bamboo → Sinuwa → Chomrong → Jhinu-Danda Springs (1,700 m)
Climb briefly from Bamboo to Khuldi Ghar and wind on to Sinuwa, then descend to the river and climb steeply to Chomrong for a final village lunch with Annapurna views. After lunch, descend to Jhinu-Danda (1,700 m). A 10–15 minute walk leads to natural stone pools of 35–40°C geothermal water in jungle above the Modi River, with Annapurna peaks through the trees. After nine days on the trail, the soak is well earned. No other major Nepal trek ends its descent at a hot spring.
Drive Jhinu-Danda → Pokhara (822 m)
After breakfast, stroll across the bridge to New Bridge over the Modi River, then board the vehicle for the scenic drive to Pokhara. The road improves once it joins the main highway, and you arrive at a charming lakeside hotel. Enjoy hot showers, long restaurant menus, comfortable beds and electricity without surcharges. Tonight's celebration dinner, your group's last full night together, is one of the most memorable moments of the trip.
Fly Pokhara → Kathmandu (1,345 m)
After breakfast at the hotel, Women Adventures transfers you to Pokhara airport for the 30-minute scenic flight to Kathmandu. From the window, watch the same Himalayan range you have walked beside for ten days. On arrival, a short drive takes you to your hotel, and the afternoon is free to relax. In the evening, Women Adventures hosts a farewell dinner and presents trek completion certificates to every trekker.
