A 2-day trip out of Muscat taking in Muscat, Nizwa Souq, Nizwa Fort and Lunch at Nizwa. There are 17 stops in all.
The running order is Muscat, then Nizwa Souq, then Nizwa Fort, then Lunch at Nizwa, then Birkat Al Mouz Old Village, and on from there.
The price covers bottled water, English-speaking Omani tour guide, 4WD vehicle transportation and Pick-up & drop-off within Muscat area. It does not cover personal expenses not mentioned above, Lunch 5 OMR per person and Nizwa Fort & Bahla Fort Entrance Fees to be paid on site by guest, so budget for those separately. Two travellers pay $1690 together rather than $1430 each, because this is priced per party and not per head.

Pick up from anywhere in Muscat area then Drive to Nizwa City. The driving from Muscat to Nizwa will take arounf 2 hours drive.

Nizwa Fort
Visit Nizwa Fort – Explore one of Oman’s most famous historic forts, known for its massive tower, traditional architecture, and fascinating history.
Lunch at Nizwa
Lunch Stop in Nizwa – Enjoy a delicious local lunch at a traditional restaurant. Lunch is not included and must be paid directly by guests on site.
Birkat Al Mouz Old Village
Birkat Al Mouz Old Village – Explore this charming traditional Omani village, known for its old mud-brick houses, narrow lanes, date plantations, and historic falaj irrigation system. Enjoy a peaceful walk through the village and experience Oman’s traditional mountain heritage.

Take some time to explore the area and enjoy a relaxing walk through the hills, with a stop at **Diana’s Viewpoint** for stunning panoramic views. After exploring the beauty of Jebel Akhdar, we continue our drive to the hotel for check-in.

Al Hamra Old Village
Visit Al Hamra to visit the village where we get to experience how the locals create a lifestyle in the older times.
Misfath Al Arbiyeen
After this quick tour, we move on to Misfah al Abryeen, a truly pristine village that nestles at the base of Jebel Shams. Here you will get to see the large Falaj water system that supplies water to the nearby vegetation. There are numerous marked footpaths throughout the village that is recommended to take your time and explore.

Jebel Shams 'The Grand Canyon of Oman'
After exploring the village, we continue our journey towards Jebel Shams, known as the “Grand Canyon of Oman.” Rising high above the surrounding valleys, Jebel Shams offers breathtaking mountain landscapes and spectacular views over Oman’s deepest canyon. Take some time to explore the area, enjoy a scenic walk, and admire the dramatic cliffs and vast valleys stretching into the distance. It is a truly unforgettable experience and one of the highlights of the tour.
Back to Muscat
After breakfast, check out from the hotel and begin our journey back to Muscat, enjoying the scenic mountain landscapes along the way.
