Full description
This is a 6-hour experience from Chiang Mai, built around Mae Taeng River and Mae Taeng District. It is run by 8Adventures, an operator we book with directly rather than through a reseller, which is why we can hold your place with them before we treat your booking as final.
Japan's outdoors is organised: trails are marked, mountain huts are booked, and the walking routes with history, the Nakasendo post road between Magome and Tsumago and the Kumano Kodo pilgrimage in Wakayama, are done in comfortable day stages with luggage forwarded. Cycling tours use the flat river paths and back streets that cars avoid. The summer heat from July to September makes early starts essential in the cities and lowlands, while the mountains are cool. Winter turns Hokkaido and Nagano into ski country from December to March, with the powder that Niseko and Hakuba are known for.

White water rafting was awesome. The team were so enthusiastic, competent & safety conscious. The river level was high due to heavy rainfalls - but at no time was I concerned. We had one participant exit the raft & the support kayaks were immediately on the job. Retrieval was done efficiently - and the paddler returned to the raft unharmed. I would highly recommend 8Adventures & their white water rafting team.
If you have time to do this in Chiang Mai then would 100% recommend, it’s suitable for all ages, good mix of rapids and chilling. The guides who go with your are great fun and take lots of photos for you, we went with a guy called Deer who we had a lot of laughs with.
Fantastic, can’t say enough good things about this. The transport was on time and we were given the registration of the vehicle for the pickup. Everyone was very friendly and explained exactly what was happening every step of the way. The food after our rafting was brilliant and the showers were great with towels provided along with toiletries. If you get a chance to do the 10k rafting you won’t regret it.
Everything was perfect. Highly recommended! Just go for it. It will be a great experience you won't regret.
Super professional and great fun at the same time. We were a bit nervous, but all was organised so well and our guide made us feel safe and laugh all in once. We all loved it!
O was so friendly and helpful. Really enjoyed the activity even though it wasn’t a full river with big rapids. There were times to relax and also for the adrenaline to pump
Great fun. The water was quite low so we were in kayaks. Still got to do some great rapids. Friendly Captains. Lovely lunch provided. There are other activities at 8adcentures so it’s worth making a day of it with two activities
Such a fun day and very well organised. Our instructor was very funny and we had a great time. The taxi to and from our hotel was on time and the lunch was very good.
