Full description
This is a 7-hour experience in Chiang Mai, built around Jeep / SUV, Chiang Mai Mountain Biking & Kayaks and Wat Pha Lat Hike (Monk's trail). It is run by CHIANG MAI MOUNTAIN BIKING & KAYAKS, an operator we book with directly rather than through a reseller, which is why we can hold your place with them before we treat your booking as final.
Japan's outdoors is organised: trails are marked, mountain huts are booked, and the walking routes with history, the Nakasendo post road between Magome and Tsumago and the Kumano Kodo pilgrimage in Wakayama, are done in comfortable day stages with luggage forwarded. Cycling tours use the flat river paths and back streets that cars avoid. The summer heat from July to September makes early starts essential in the cities and lowlands, while the mountains are cool. Winter turns Hokkaido and Nagano into ski country from December to March, with the powder that Niseko and Hakuba are known for.
The price covers Escort: Guided by Chiang Mai’sProfessional Mountain, First Aid: Our instructors are certified in First Aid and, Lunch : Vegetarian and Vegan Options available, Hydration: Water for hydration packs and bottled water are and Support Truck: standing by ready to assist and support. It does not cover Doi Suthep National Park & insurance, 250 baht, so budget for those separately. Everything included is listed in full on this page; if something is not on that list, assume it is not in the price.
Chiang Mai. We need at least one day's notice, and we confirm the date with CHIANG MAI MOUNTAIN BIKING & KAYAKS before treating your booking as final. If they cannot take your date we tell you and refund you rather than leave you waiting.

Traveler Reviews
It was an intense hike but A was a wonderfully patient guide. We saw so many amazing things, experienced culture, had such good food, and enjoyed a beautiful waterfall. Wish we had more time to enjoy the waterfall… feet in the water would have been nice. Overall it was a great day.
This hike has many strenuous steep sections, but we (28M & 31M) found the pacing of the breaks / Wats made the hike easier than anticipated and quite enjoyable. Our guides A and Nop were kind, knowledgeable, and nothing but smiles. Water bottles are provided and the truck will meet you along to way at a few locations so you can hydrate, but I highly recommend bringing a water bladder - I froze my camelback the night before and ended up drinking all 3 liters. It’s a day affair, and lunch is served slightly later (ours was around 2/3PM), so having a small snack isn’t a bad idea. We were the last
This was an incredibly beautiful hike with stunning views. Our guide, Nop, was fantastic and provided lots of information. He was extremely helpful and guided us on a perfect hike. I recommend this but it may be challenging for those who are not regular hikers.
We had a great hike with A and Nop! They were knowledgeable, friendly and very fun. The hike was a good workout - expect to sweat! Considering we were gone, from pick up to drop off, about 9 hours I would say excellent value for money. I totally recommend this hike if you are in reasonably good shape and have some endurance.
The hike was challenging but well worth it. As an avid hiker I found this hard, so it's definitely not a beginners hike. Had a lot of steep sections that were a glute workout! Trial is uneven, rocky, muddy and undulating. My guide was good at pointing a lot of things out. He also took a lot of photos for me. Water bottles was provided at multiple start, middle and end of hike. Lunch isn't provided until closer to 4pm so pack snacks. Started with 9:30am pick up and didn't get back to hotel until closer to 6pm.
Our guide Mr. A was extremely helpful, engaged and hilarious throughout the entire hike, kept us entertained with his knowledge of the city, the temples, the trail & the encounters we had with some of the animals along the way. Highly recommended it
What an amazing experience, could not have asked for a better day. Tui made the whole hike and day so great, he is such a fantastic person. Beautiful sights and a very unique experience, totally recommended!
It was a perfect tough hike straight up the mountain through the jungle. You sweat a lot, you walk through parts of the river, you get attacked by mosquitoes and you learn a lot from the funny guide. The pace was good and it got us up to the little restaurant on time. The guide grew up in the jungle, he knows what he’s doing. I highly recommend it if you like a good hard hike. I would do it again!
This is a fantastic hike in the national park. It was great to get out of the crowds and to enjoy being in nature. The guide was great!
Was a great hike, very challenging long day. Went to some amazing spots and our guide was great. No warning on how hard the home would be tho
Challenging walk quite steep in places but well worth it if you bring the right footwear. Danai was a kind and patient guide, great company. overall a very enjoyable day, would recommend.
Amazing from start to finish, the hike was absolutely amazing we saw lots of wild life. We saw NO tourist, 100% immersive deep jungle. The best were the guides, A and Jane were a good mood good vibe and we learn a lot, we felt really safe with them. Thanks
