Full description
This is a 4-hour experience in Chiang Mai. It is run by Doisuthep the Exotic Trek Chiangmai, an operator we book with directly rather than through a reseller, which is why we can hold your place with them before we treat your booking as final.
Shinto shrines and Buddhist temples sit side by side across Japan and the etiquette differs slightly: at a shrine, bow at the torii, rinse hands and mouth at the water basin, then bow twice, clap twice, bow once at the hall; at a temple, no clapping, hands together, and incense if it is offered. Photography is fine outside and usually not inside halls. Zen meditation sessions, zazen, are taught at several Kyoto and Tokyo temples in 30 to 60 minute sittings with the posture explained; a shukubo temple stay adds the morning service and vegetarian shojin ryori. Shoes come off at every hall.
Pickup is offered from McDonald's and Wat Phra Singh Woramahawihan; the exact spot and time are agreed with Doisuthep the Exotic Trek Chiangmai once the booking is confirmed, and the option you choose sets whether transport is included.
The price covers Transportation pick up, All Tickets fee, English tourguide. It does not cover Cable Car, so budget for those separately. Everything included is listed in full on this page; if something is not on that list, assume it is not in the price.

Guide and driver were great. Very professional and informative but frankly the sites and content were not particularly interesting and seemed we weren’t alone in being underwhelmed. Some down time waiting to see Chiang Mai city lights from the mountaintop after sundown. Given other options and temples tours in Thailand I wouldn’t personally recommend. Balance this opinion against the positive reviews for this tour but we would avoid. If you want to see city from mountain top you could easily do on your own assuming you are comfortable arranging transport and would have added flexibility of goi

Un tour muy interesante, el guia Pan nos dio mucha información sobre el budismo aparte de ser muy divertido. Se pasó el tiempo volando. Merece la pena visitarlo sobre todo al anochecer.
