This is a experience from Chiang Mai, built around Mae Kachan Hot Spring, Wat Rong Khun and Local restaurant. It is run by Chiang Mai Footsteps Travel, an operator we book with directly rather than through a reseller, which is why we can hold your place with them before we treat your booking as final.
Shinto shrines and Buddhist temples sit side by side across Japan and the etiquette differs slightly: at a shrine, bow at the torii, rinse hands and mouth at the water basin, then bow twice, clap twice, bow once at the hall; at a temple, no clapping, hands together, and incense if it is offered. Photography is fine outside and usually not inside halls. Zen meditation sessions, zazen, are taught at several Kyoto and Tokyo temples in 30 to 60 minute sittings with the posture explained; a shukubo temple stay adds the morning service and vegetarian shojin ryori. Shoes come off at every hall.

This is such a well organized trip. Our guide kept everything on schedule without ever feeling rushed. The time given at each site felt right and the day flowed quickly. It is a great way to see Chiang Rai and the Golden Triangle.
This was an excellent tour! It was a long day but well worth it, especially with Paul being our guide. He was funny, informative, and kept us on time and was even our photographer! Highly recommend if you are visiting Chiang Mai!
I had a fantastic day going to Chiang Rai to see temples and then up to the Golden Triangle. My guide Thee was so considerate and kind, she took photos for myself and others and was always ready to answer questions and share her knowledge with us, it was nice to have a tour guide ready to appreciate the destinations with and walk around with talking. Maybe a little less time could be spent at some stops just given solo travellers tend to move through them faster than couples or families. My favourite spots were the Karen long neck village and seeing the Golden Triangle, I enjoyed these a lot!
We had an amazing day exploring Chiang Rai and the Golden Triangle, visiting the White Temple, Blue Temple, Black House and Golden Triangle. Everything was made even better by our wonderful tour leader, Bee. Bee was friendly, knowledgeable, helpful and made the whole day enjoyable and relaxed. She shared lots of interesting information about each place and was always happy to answer our questions. She also made sure we were comfortable throughout the day without ever making us feel rushed. My husband and I had a great time on this tour. The van arrived in a timely manner. Our tour guide Anna was friendly and informative. I especially enjoyed seeing the long necks, white temple and golden triangle.
It was a full day and well worth it. The white temple, blue temple and black museum were the highlights.
The trip was nice and the guide was very ok and funny. The white and the blue temple was impressive. The Golden Triangle I would skip because it's nothing, a short boat trip. The black museum was interesting to. Indeed the return was long more then 4 hours.
