Full description
This is a 12-hour experience from Chiang Mai, built around Living Green Elephant Sanctuary and Doi Inthanon National Park. It is run by Living Green Elephant Sanctuary Chiang Mai and Chonburi, an operator we book with directly rather than through a reseller, which is why we can hold your place with them before we treat your booking as final.
Japan's outdoors is organised: trails are marked, mountain huts are booked, and the walking routes with history, the Nakasendo post road between Magome and Tsumago and the Kumano Kodo pilgrimage in Wakayama, are done in comfortable day stages with luggage forwarded. Cycling tours use the flat river paths and back streets that cars avoid. The summer heat from July to September makes early starts essential in the cities and lowlands, while the mountains are cool. Winter turns Hokkaido and Nagano into ski country from December to March, with the powder that Niseko and Hakuba are known for.
The price covers Hotel pick-up and drop-off, Traditional northern clothing for the sanctuary visit, Elephant feeding and bathing experience, meal and Visit to the Twin Pagodas and Botanical Garden. It does not cover Doi Inthanon National Park entrance fee: Adult 300 THB /, Phra That entrance fee: Adult 100 THB / Child 50 THB, Personal expenses and Tips, so budget for those separately. Everything included is listed in full on this page; if something is not on that list, assume it is not in the price.
Chiang Mai. We need at least one day's notice, and we confirm the date with Living Green Elephant Sanctuary Chiang Mai and Chonburi before treating your booking as final. If they cannot take your date we tell you and refund you rather than leave you waiting.

Traveler Reviews
Thank you Mark loved it! Unfortunately weather was not on our side, but we adjusted the tour. Elephants were beautiful and looked after, they are told to perform tricks / where to go to take photos but with only positive reinforcement, I have no doubts there. Lots of driving around so be prepared! The nature trail was the highlight of my whole trip, accompanied by stories from Mark, and new friends made along the way!! Would recommend especially for solo travellers
We had Jon as a guide and He was really acessible and made the tour really interesting and fun, totally recommend it!!!
The elephant sanctuary was beautiful and such a special experience and note was very accommodating on the weather side of things and was very helpful.
Amazing views and experiences. Also we had a very nice and cool guide with a good vibe inside the group :)
Very good guide on the tour, and all other guides involved with elephants. Everybody was happy, including the elephants.
it was an amazing day out. We visited a lot of places, and had time to explore each of them. The guide was friendly, helpful and shared a lot of insteresting information on the sites we visited.
Had an awesome day with a nice mix of morning and afternoon activities. It was good that even with the bad weather on the mountain, there was a back up plan. Rainbow was a great guide who was happy to answer various questions.
Highly Recommended One-Day Tour from Chiang Mai! We completed this excellent full-day tour yesterday near Chiang Mai and loved it. The drive was pleasant with a good coffee stop (snacks available, no breakfast). First stop was the ethical elephant rescue sanctuary. After a clear briefing on dos and don’ts, we wore blue tops to appear as friendly food visitors. The elephants roam freely with no forced activities. Feeding and bathing them was incredibly fun and memorable! Lunch was delicious: tofu & egg pad Thai with fresh pineapple and watermelon. We then visited Doi Inthanon, Thailand’s highes
Excellent day. Praem was a great guide. All activities were enjoyable. We appreciated having no extras to pay ( apart from Nat Park fees) Thank you for a wonderful day.
We had an amazing time. Our guides were beyond knowledgeable and hospitable
11/10 best thing I’ve done on my trip so far. It’s like 4 tours in one. I had such an incredible experience. Just book it.
I’m very satisfied with this tour. We got to visit a lot of spots in just a day. Worth every penny! Our guide, Rainbow is very friendly and helpful as well. I enjoyed the trek to the Karen Village the most because we got to see the biggest waterfalls in Doi Inthanon. I love the trek by the river, it was so relaxing.
