Full description
This is a experience in Chiang Mai. It is run by Chiang Mai Footsteps Travel, an operator we book with directly rather than through a reseller, which is why we can hold your place with them before we treat your booking as final.
Japan's outdoors is organised: trails are marked, mountain huts are booked, and the walking routes with history, the Nakasendo post road between Magome and Tsumago and the Kumano Kodo pilgrimage in Wakayama, are done in comfortable day stages with luggage forwarded. Cycling tours use the flat river paths and back streets that cars avoid. The summer heat from July to September makes early starts essential in the cities and lowlands, while the mountains are cool. Winter turns Hokkaido and Nagano into ski country from December to March, with the powder that Niseko and Hakuba are known for.
The price covers Round trip transportation, Hotel pickup and drop-off, All tickets, tour guide and Lunch. Everything included is listed in full on this page; if something is not on that list, assume it is not in the price.

I had a great day on this tour. My tour guides had snacks for us in the morning. They were so educated at the elephant sanctuary and honestly the whole tour. I felt like I had enough time at each destination. I really enjoyed this and it made my day, so happy I signed up for this! My favorite parts were the elephants, which were well taken care of and the people who worked there looked like they absolutely loved those elephants, and the end of the hike when we got to have tea. I loved swimming with the elephants on such a hot day. The people of the Karen village were so friendly and I loved le
One of the best things we have done on our trip so far! Lucy was a great guide, so friendly and was with us the whole time. amazing elephant sanctuary, seemed like the animals were well looked after there. lunch was ok, nothing too great but filled a hole in the stomach. The hike was just beautiful and not too difficult. So many views and things to look at including waterfalls so you forget about the walk with views like that! mostly downhill and flat too. A few tricky parts to walk down but it was all manageable. Then stop off at the coffee for tasting and a chance to buy from the shop. dropp
Such a beautiful tour. Day was packed and worth the money. Elephants look happy and free in their 30 km forested compound. Well fed and so playful. My kids in their 20s thoroughly enjoyed the experience. Twin temples very impressive with very nice gardens around worth the trip. Our guide for the tour and our guide on the trek difficult to understand but we understood English is not their first language so have some patience. They’re happy to repeat themselves so you understand. Lunch was very delicious and the ‘Starbucks’ coffee bar was nice also.
An unforgettable experience.Thank you Easy for you kindness and great sense of humor. You really made my day special!!!

This was the best day of our 10 days in Thailand, the Tour is awesome and the Guide Easy is the best man! it was a great day, we are very happy we choosed this Tour, trank you very very much! Tabry!
I would highly recommend this tour ! You really have the time to enjoy the elephants, which is an incredible experience. The rest of the day is worth it too, as Doi Inthanon is a very nice natural parc. When proposed to choose between the “long” walk (about 3km / 1h30) and the short walk, I highly recommend to take the long one which is stunning and mostly (90/95%) downhill. Overall a great one day tour from Chiang Mai! For info, hotel pick up around 7.30 am and return to the hotel around 7.30 pm
This was a very nice tour ! Be prepared for a long day as there are a lot of activities to do and places to see in one day. Nevertheless, our guide Easy (Izy ?) never lost his humour and was very funny throughout the day. You have a lot of freedom on the different places, which is nice. Our guide was always available for questions and explanations, and gave us a lot of facts on elephants (which is found super interesting as I did not know much). Our driver Anam was also very nice and made sure the journey was smooth enough to sleep on the way back.
This daytrip from Chiang Mai was worth every penny and getting to meet elefants will be a memory for a lifetime. Trekking in the dense montane forest of Doi Inthanon National Park was also a thrilling experience. Amazing nature! Our guide was very knowledgeable and helpful, he really gave it all and gave us a lot of background knowledge regarding the national park and the tribes living in the surrounding area. Thumbs up, I definitely recommend this daytrip. Just a suggestion for the tour Operator on a practical note, you might want to provide your guide with a microphone in the van, as this wi
Tour Guide was funny and knowledgeable. Day was packed from front to back with activities. You’ll see a lot in one day. It was a busy day but 100% worth it.
Really good day! Guide was amazing ! Highly recommand
It was a great day and very nice tour. Our guide Goi gave us a lot of information about the Doi Inthanon National Park, the 2 pagodes, the Karen tribe and the elephant sanctuary. She is a sweet, funny and very helpful person and tries her best to make it an amazing, informative and fun tour for you. It was an beautiful day but the best part was swimming at the waterfall and being with the elephants. Thank you Goi!!!
