This is a experience from Chiang Mai, built around Wat Phra That Doi Suthep, Wat Pha Lat and Bai Orchid & Butterfly Farm. It is run by Chiang Mai Footsteps Travel, an operator we book with directly rather than through a reseller, which is why we can hold your place with them before we treat your booking as final.
Shinto shrines and Buddhist temples sit side by side across Japan and the etiquette differs slightly: at a shrine, bow at the torii, rinse hands and mouth at the water basin, then bow twice, clap twice, bow once at the hall; at a temple, no clapping, hands together, and incense if it is offered. Photography is fine outside and usually not inside halls. Zen meditation sessions, zazen, are taught at several Kyoto and Tokyo temples in 30 to 60 minute sittings with the posture explained; a shukubo temple stay adds the morning service and vegetarian shojin ryori. Shoes come off at every hall.

It was a wonderful experience! Our tour guide Nine ("9") was a very nice man from Chiang Mai who accompanied us throughout the day trip. All the sights were impressive and full of history, but my favourite was Wat Pha Lat Temple. The old temple in the jungle was simply magical and fascinating. I highly recommend this day trip to anyone visiting Chiang Mai and hope you get Nine as your tour guide.
We had an incredible day, plenty of time at each stop and our guide Aht was right there with us sharing his knowledge. Great value for money and awesome driver. Going in off peak meant it wasn’t as crowded so that really made it a great day
The temple visits have been amazing and our guide was super helpful in answering all our questions. Sticky waterfall has been a super fun experience!

Our trip was great. We loved the sticky waterfalls although they are very busy. Our tour guide Nine was very good at looking after us. He was very good with our 8 year old. Also the guide and the tour company were super helpful when we left a wallet on the tour bus, they delivered to the hotel early in the morning before our flight.
We loved our day trip especially the sticky waterfall and impressive temples. Our guide, Fon, was fantastic, sharing all her knowledge on the itinerary and organising the day perfectly.
We were lucky to be the one couple for tour today.. Went on our own pace.. Guide Lin was calm & patient, explained few things.. Perfect day as we did two nice and different temple with amazing sticky waterfall experience.. Lunch at orchid farm was chicken and veggies buffet, mostly deep fried items not bad
We thought this trip was great value for money. We got to do a variety of activities and eat a delicious buffet. Our guide was great, she was very knowledgeable and took lots of good photos of us. We had a brilliant day
The trip was OK, but it is a bit expensive in my opinion. We did not have too much time for taking pictures, guide seems to be a bit rushy and stress.

The whole day from start to finish was spectacular. These beautiful temples are a joy to see. The food provided was delicious and plenty of it. Sticky water fall was beautiful but be sure to wear water shoes for climbing. An exhausting but totally enjoyable day.
