Full description

This is a 8-hour experience in Chiang Mai, built around Chiang Mai Province. It is run by Elephantdreamproject, an operator we book with directly rather than through a reseller, which is why we can hold your place with them before we treat your booking as final.

A private day with a driver-guide is the way to see the most of a Japanese city or region in one day, because it removes the transfers between sights that eat a third of the day on public transport. Prices are usually per vehicle for up to a set number of guests rather than per person, and cover the car, fuel, tolls and the guide; entrance fees and lunch are paid as you go unless the listing says otherwise. Japanese guides are licensed for the work and typically punctual to the minute. Give the operator your priorities, and expect them to reorder the day around opening hours and crowds; that is what you are paying for.

The price covers Roundtrip transfer in Chiang Mai, Lunch, Water, Food for feeding elephants and Entry tickets. It does not cover Soft drinks, so budget for those separately. Everything included is listed in full on this page; if something is not on that list, assume it is not in the price.

Chiang Mai. We need at least one day's notice, and we confirm the date with Elephantdreamproject before treating your booking as final. If they cannot take your date we tell you and refund you rather than leave you waiting.

It was fun. We got to feed the elephants walk with them while interacting. They seem to be well taken care of and after all of that we got a really tasty homemade meal. Great day

We got to see elephants in their natural habitat, doing what they do. When choosing there were alot of options, but I am happy I came across this one and chose it. I definitly recommend! Very beautiful experience!!

Just the perfect day! The elephants seemed so well taken care of and really happy - the most contact we had with them was feeding and walking along side them. From chatting with the guides, we learnt the importance of supporting the smaller village people owned businesses. The village people have the best interests of the elephants at heart and it helps them to build something for themselves. Couldn’t recommend the experience more!

The experience was amazing. I love that the elephants weren’t in a pen and we were able to interact with them “free range”. I will say if you get car sick easily take a Dramamine as the drive up the mountain is bumpy and very curvy and about 30 minutes one way.

The trip was so great! We were very happy with how they treated the animals. They did not treat them like they were attractions, but rather we got to spend the day hanging out with the elephants in the way they like to live. Making rice/fruit balls to feed to the elephants’ mouths was the highlight of the day for me!

Our visit to Elephant Dream Project Sanctuary was everything we hoped for and more. Unlike larger, more commercial venues, this intimate sanctuary allowed only six of us in our group, which meant more meaningful time with these gentle giants. The sanctuary’s strict no-riding, no-bathing policy (which we fully support) ensured the elephants were happy, relaxed, and free to be themselves. We did get to feed them, but it was entirely on their terms—they approached us willingly, with no pressure or forced interaction. It was clear these elephants are genuinely loved and well cared for, living in a

The elephants were domestic and related to each other. Grand mother, mother, and daughter, for example. The elephants are well cared for. The sanctuary rents the land so the elephants can stay together. We were able to feed the elephants, watch them forage, and frolic in the watering hole. The sanctuary relies on money from tourist experiences. The elephants are never ridden. Highly recommend

Awesome! Wonderful to see the elephants and no riding/bathing/etc. The elephants seem happy. The aim of the project, in addition to feeding and renting land for the four elephants there now, is to buy more land so more elephants can live there. I hope it succeeds.

I had an absolutely wonderful day at the Elephant Dream Project in Chiang Mai! From the moment I arrived, I could feel the genuine care and dedication the team has for their elephants. It was incredible to meet these majestic animals up close and learn about the thoughtful ways they are cared for, all in a compassionate and safe environment. What really stood out to me was the team’s passion for growing their project and making a positive impact—not just for the elephants, but for the community as well. You can truly see their dreams in action, and it’s inspiring to witness their commitment fi

It was a wonderful day, amazing experience getting to feed and walk with the elephants. It’s nice to see that they have the elephants best interests at heart and are not just using them to make money.
