Full description
This is a 4-hour experience in Chiang Mai, built around Chiang Mai Province. It is run by Elephantdreamproject, an operator we book with directly rather than through a reseller, which is why we can hold your place with them before we treat your booking as final.
A private day with a driver-guide is the way to see the most of a Japanese city or region in one day, because it removes the transfers between sights that eat a third of the day on public transport. Prices are usually per vehicle for up to a set number of guests rather than per person, and cover the car, fuel, tolls and the guide; entrance fees and lunch are paid as you go unless the listing says otherwise. Japanese guides are licensed for the work and typically punctual to the minute. Give the operator your priorities, and expect them to reorder the day around opening hours and crowds; that is what you are paying for.
The price covers Roundtrip transfer in Chiang Mai, Lunch, Water, Food for feeding elephants and Entry tickets. It does not cover Soft drinks, so budget for those separately. Everything included is listed in full on this page; if something is not on that list, assume it is not in the price.
Chiang Mai. We need at least one day's notice, and we confirm the date with Elephantdreamproject before treating your booking as final. If they cannot take your date we tell you and refund you rather than leave you waiting.

Great too see someone so passionate about their elephants, great relaxed day.
This is the most incredible experience, the guides take very good care of you and very friendly and happy to chat. The elephants have a good life here, they know their routine and look forward to getting their fruit. Definitely recommend if you are looking for an elephant experience.
It was such a perfect day from start to finish. Our driver was on time and greeting and warmly he also turned out to be our guide and he was very knowledgeable and you could tell he loved the elephants. The elephants are very well looked after and loved. There is no touching the elephants and not forced into doing anything and it is a completely ethical experience.. feeding the elephants was wonderful and seeing the massive beast in their natural habitat has been a dream come true. It was definitely a five star experience and I would encourage anybody and everybody to try this tour out. The fo
super good sanctuary. seems very ethical and they love the elephants a lot. big focus on letting them just be animals. clearly take good care of them. nice people who run it, very informative and knowledgeable. far away in the hills so a cool new place in chiang mai to explore. overall very good. they deserve more foot traffic
Choose this elephant tour! It is a family run business and the elephants are part of the same herd. It felt less like a touristy experience and more authentic. highly recommend. Tips/comments: - The elephants were not forced to do anything. - Our group size was 12 people, 4 elephants, totally a good size. - The drive was kinda long. And we were the first ones picked up so the longest for us. We stopped at a 7/11/food area about an hour in so that was nice. Also the elephants are like high up in the jungle so it makes sense it needs to be a long drive. Just bring headphones and you’ll be fine.
An excellent experience at a truly ethical elephant sanctuary. The location is immersed in nature, and the guide was truly kind and helpful. Well done!
We had a wonderful time and experience. Our driver AND tour guide Jay was very informative, friendly, approachable, and accommodating. We could tell that the team really cared about the elephants at this sanctuary and we were given the opportunity of a lifetime to be able to get the feel of just being surrounded by these beautiful animals, in their natural lifestyle. The half day tour was perfect to allow us so much time interacting with the elephants by feeding them snacks (fruits/corn provided by the tour). The lunch provided was delicious too! If you are coming from Chiang Mai, expect about
Our guide was very open and explained us a lot about the elephants and he answered every question. After feeding the elephants we hiked up the mountain with them. The guides always made sure that the elephants have enough space and that they’re not uncomfortable and they explained their behavior to us. I think it’s important to support ethical elephant sanctuary’s that really care about the wellbeing of the animals.
The driver at the start of the day really set the tone for the rest of the day. He was so friendly and kind towards us. The day with the elephants was better than I could ever have imagined. Their care for the animals was clearly to the forefront and a priority with this company. I could not recommend this tour more highly. We had the most amazing day. Thank you so much. A true hidden gem
Awesome! You can tell they really love and care for their elephants it was wonderful! They explained a lot it was really interesting and friendly
It was absolutely amazing! What a wonderful experience to see this ethic elephant sanctuary! The elephant were so well cared for and happy! I really recommend going here and meeting the cutest animals and sweetest people. 🥰
The tour was fantastic. I cannot recommend it enough. The tour guide was extremely informative about the ethical nature of the sanctuary & explained how it would not be like other tours Simply put you get 4+ hours to follow the elephants, into the jungle & traversing a river. Opportunities to feed them watermelon & sugar canes a plenty. Food provided for lunch from a local lady was delicious too. Transport arrived on time & got us home safely too.
