This is a 1-hour experience in Chiang Mai. It is run by Uri Herbs Workshop, an operator we book with directly rather than through a reseller, which is why we can hold your place with them before we treat your booking as final.
Japanese craft classes are taught by practitioners who have usually done the craft for decades, and they teach it properly: calligraphy begins with how to hold the brush and grind the ink; pottery on the wheel produces a cup that is fired and posted to you weeks later; ikebana teaches the three-line structure of a Sogetsu or Ikenobo arrangement; indigo dyeing and washi papermaking are done in the workshops of the towns that specialise in them. Classes run one to three hours, materials are included, and most welcome children with a parent.
The price covers workshop instructor, All raw materials, Your handmade products to take home, Healthy welcome tea and light refreshments and Drinking water. Everything included is listed in full on this page; if something is not on that list, assume it is not in the price.

It was totally worth it, such a cool local experience! What makes it special is that making the mosquito repellent incense bottle in this peaceful, cozy room is just so healing. Once you learn how different scents affect us, you'll know better how to pick the right plant-based products for yourself—you’ll even get the gist of how mixing them works. Sure, it’s basic knowledge, but it opens up the whole world of plant-based healing for you, and you can totally dig deeper on your own later. The folks running it are super sweet—a guy and a girl helped me out—with genuine kindness, warm smiles, and
We had a wonderful experience making the Yadom inhaler at Uri Herbs. Meli explained the different plants that go into the inhalers and what their functions are. We then got to grind up our own ingredients and each make a custom scent to enjoy at home. It was super fun and informative. Meli also snapped great pictures and videos of us during the workshop!
This was such a cool experience and the workshop was inside of such a sweet store! The workshops can be in English if needed and everyone at the shop speaks fluent English. I loved learning about the herbs and making things to take home and use. Such a great workshop to attend!
It was such an incredible experience, making a Thai Inhaler (Yadom) from natural herbs and spices. The guides were amazing, explaining the use of each of the ingredients. We were able to customise it by choosing which essential oil and which herb we wanted to add. I choose Jasmine, which surprisingly completed the inhaler magically! I'm definitely going back to Uri Herbs for another workshop.
Interesting and a quick activity to fill a gap in the itinerary. Nice to have something to take away from my trip
Today we visited a workshop on how to create an inhaler, and it turned out to be such a great experience! We were welcomed with some nice tea, and after that, invited into the workshop itself. I didn’t expect to learn so many details about inhalers, I discovered a lot more about them and their ingredients, it was amazing. You can also customize your inhaler with any natural scents you like. The communication was easy and relaxed, and I really enjoyed the company. Overall, I’d give this place a solid 10 out of 10 and would definitely visit again!
very friendly and knowledgeable staff I learnt a lot about herbs and spices. definitely worth trying out.
Everyone was so friendly and welcoming. They explained every herb and you can customize your own Yadom to your own liking (ingredients and decorations on the jar). Had a wonderful overall experience.
The activity was amazing: really interesting and all the team : Yok, Eric and Mae are so funny and kind! Was such a good moment/experience! Don’t hesitate to go making your own Ya Dom or try their other workshops!
My wife and I did the Yadam class today this is normally something I don’t do but wow what an experience. We were welcomed very warmly with a surprise(a very tasty tea) then we went up stairs and learned how to make a Yadam. The instructor Yok was very knowledgeable and fun and helped guide us to make the perfect recipe for our needs. 10/10 experience will be going back later to take the tea making class.
We loved everything about this experience, from the tea when we arrived to the sharing of stories as we learned to make our own herbal inhalers (ya dom). The workshop spaces and all of the ingredients were arranged beautifully. We had fun learning about climate and native herbs, and speaking with our local hosts about Thai culture - thank you so much to Yok, May, and Eric for a fantastic workshop.
