This is a 4-hour experience from Chiang Mai, built around Wat Pha Lat Hike (Monk's trail), Wat Pha Lat and Wat Phra That Doi Suthep. It is run by Beyond Experience, an operator we book with directly rather than through a reseller, which is why we can hold your place with them before we treat your booking as final.
A private day with a driver-guide is the way to see the most of a Japanese city or region in one day, because it removes the transfers between sights that eat a third of the day on public transport. Prices are usually per vehicle for up to a set number of guests rather than per person, and cover the car, fuel, tolls and the guide; entrance fees and lunch are paid as you go unless the listing says otherwise. This tour was absolutely incredible. Walking beneath the tall trees gave us a true sense of the monks' peaceful practice. Our guide San Ti did a phenomenal job explaining the route from every angle—history, geography, and local life. Loved everything about this hike. Right off the bat, Jane was excellent in giving us an introduction to the hike, the history, she has a great sense of humor and it was easy to connect with her! The hike is suitable for beginners. There are some steep stretches, challenging, enjoyable. Be sure to have good shoes for this walk. Loved Watching Pha Lat for its peace and serenity. Enjoyed the winding road to Doi Suthep and was glad I wasn't hiking that stretch! The view from the top is expansive and humbling. The trip was great, a must do if you are in Chiang Mai. The monk’s trail walk is about 1 km and it was lovey. The trip is well organised and we learned so many things of the local culture with our guide. We highly recommend it!
We are a couple and we had a great excursion with our guide "Two"! The walking trail to Wat Pha Lat is really easy, Two adapted perfectly to our pace, and we made some photo stops along the way.
