Full description
This is a 15-hour experience from Chiang Mai, built around Mae Kachan Hot Spring, Wat Rong Khun and Local restaurant. It is run by CHIANG MAI DAY TRIP, an operator we book with directly rather than through a reseller, which is why we can hold your place with them before we treat your booking as final.
Shinto shrines and Buddhist temples sit side by side across Japan and the etiquette differs slightly: at a shrine, bow at the torii, rinse hands and mouth at the water basin, then bow twice, clap twice, bow once at the hall; at a temple, no clapping, hands together, and incense if it is offered. Photography is fine outside and usually not inside halls. Zen meditation sessions, zazen, are taught at several Kyoto and Tokyo temples in 30 to 60 minute sittings with the posture explained; a shukubo temple stay adds the morning service and vegetarian shojin ryori. Shoes come off at every hall.
The price covers Round Trip Transfer by Air-Conditioned Van, English-Speaking Tour Guide, Thai Lunch Meal, White Temple Admission Fee and Blue Temple Admission Fee. It does not cover Personal Expense, so budget for those separately. Everything included is listed in full on this page; if something is not on that list, assume it is not in the price.

The whole tour was great, if you don’t have much time and want to see the main points, it’s totally worth it! Bee is a great guide that gave us a lot of explanations about history and the temples. We had so much fun.
Every visits of Temples was Amazing.
We chose not to fly Chiang Tai but wanted to see the area so this trip hit the buttons. We went from Chiang Mai and I will say it is a very long day, 15 hours in total and much of that spent in the minibus. Saying that Bee our guide was fantastic and kept our spirits up the whole time, providing us with knowledgeable information as we went. There were plenty of opportunities to stop for a ‘happy break’. We didn’t realise the temples were relatively new (20-30 years old max) but nonetheless it was an enjoyable time.
Excursión was exhausting as we visited many places, but worth it if you want to see many things and don’t have much time. Our guide Bee was a sweetheart, very nice and caring about all participants.
Anna is a great guide providing lots of interesting insights at every single stop. Tour was fantastic and the van was comfortable.

La nostra guida è stata veramente brava, ha un entusiasmo da paura. La parte dei Templi è interessante e carina, ma purtroppo sono strapieni di gente. La gita in barca nel Triangolo d'oro, interessante ma solo se c'è la guida a spiegartelo, altrimenti è un giretto in barca. Abbiamo fatto un bel pranzo. Unica pecca è stato il van un pò scomodo perché con sedili molto ravvicinati.
Un’escursione lunga ed entusiasmante, organizzata al meglio. Siamo stati fortunati nell’avere Bee come guida. Divertente e simpatica, molto preparata, e con un ottimo inglese (qualità non troppo frequente nella nostra esperienza). 100/100 Recommended

The Chiang Rai Red Temple & Golden Triangle Boat Trip Free Lunch was great. Although it was a long day (14 hours), it was still worth it. Our tour guide was phenomenal. The one opportunity for improvement is on the free lunch. The food was just okay and could have been better. I think it is important to expose visitors/tourists to the great Thai food as to leave a great impression on the whole trip. Otherwise, everything else was great.
