This is a 2.5-hour experience in Chiang Mai. It is run by Hang Tueng farm, an operator we book with directly rather than through a reseller, which is why we can hold your place with them before we treat your booking as final.
The price covers Rice planting experience, Traditional farmer costumes and boots and Lunch. It does not cover Pickup and drop-off, so budget for those separately. Everything included is listed in full on this page; if something is not on that list, assume it is not in the price.

Easily one of the best experiences I’ve done in another country. The two hosts are very nice as well
We had a great time with Uncle Serd and his niece Em. They took the time to educate us on the entire rice planting and harvesting process. Em also helped us take pictures and videos for memories as well! We loved feeding and bathing the buffalo, especially the baby. 🤣 She is full of attitude and does not like taking baths. The lunch and dessert was delicious!!! Be ready to get dirty, it's all a part of the session. 😁
Very fun day on the farm with the animals, and informative. Dinner was great as well all fresh ingredients
What a lovely way to spend our last morning in Chiangmai. Very welcoming and well organised. Exactly as described- collect food and feed the buffalo, wash the buffalo and really interesting demonstration on how rice is planted and harvested with plenty of chance to try it out as well. Followed by a lovely lunch and then back to the city again. A real highlight was that there was a large school group from the country there when we arrived and they wanted to spend time talking with us and practising their English. Totally added to the enjoyment of the day. This activity is suitable for all ages.
A lovely trip out to a quaint farm. They showed me how to plant and grow rice and i also met their friendly buffalo before getting some lovely food and relaxing in the space. (Be aware the food is substantial and arrives just after 11am)
素晴らしくゆったりとした贅沢な時間でした。 田園の風景に心が溶けていくようでした。 また、水牛の他、アヒルやニワトリたちにも心が癒されました。 ランチのグリーンカレーは日本人でもおいしく食べられるマイルドな味わいで絶品でした。

他にない素晴らしいアクティビティです。 まず水牛にあげる餌の草を、鎌で刈り取ってから集めます。その作業自体も子どもは楽しんでいました。 水牛は草の他に果物も食べていました。 水をかけてあげると、気持ちよさそうに寝ころび、その姿は本当に可愛らしかったです。 田植え体験では、タイの田植え方法も知ることができて興味深いです。 田んぼの泥に入って田植えをするのは楽しく、時間も量もちょうど良くて、小さい子どもでも疲れない程度に体験できます。 服と長靴を貸してくれるので、汚れる心配はありません。 田んぼでは裸足になりますが、シャワーで洗うことができるので、サンダルで来ると楽です。 最後に食べたグリーンカレーは本当に美味しかったです。 子どもにはチャーハンを準備してくれました。 ガイドさんも素晴らしく、ぜひたくさんの方に体験してほしいです。
We had so much fun. The Buffalo were so cute! Really cool getting to experience how rice is planted. I would definitely do this again hidden gem!
At first I was nervous because there weren’t many reviews, but PLEASE do not miss this if it sounds interesting to you at all. Our whole group loved this. It is truly a unique, once in a lifetime activity. The people are genuine and were so awesome. 10/10 would recommend this to anyone who doesn’t mind getting down and dirty.
The family was very kind. We enjoyed learning about the process, interacting with the animals, and the peacefulness of the environment. It was also fun to get into the mud and give planting a try.
