Abu Dhabi's desert is a different landscape from Dubai's and the safari reflects it. The dunes here run higher and emptier, the camps are further from the city, and you will share the sand with far fewer vehicles than on the Dubai side.
The afternoon starts with pickup in a 4x4 and dune bashing once the tyres are down. Sandboarding follows, and there is a stop at a working camel farm — not a photo prop but a farm, which is a rarer thing to see than the camel ride most itineraries offer.
Sunset is taken from the dunes before the camp, and the camp evening is the familiar and genuinely good one: barbecue dinner, tanoura and fire shows, shisha, henna, and a sky with enough dark around it that the stars actually appear.
Quad biking is an optional add-on rather than part of the base price, so select it at the option stage if you want it. Six hours door to door, air-conditioned vehicle throughout, with cold water in the car — which between June and September is not a courtesy but a requirement.

Aamir is an excellent guy and a super driver. That’s was the best sand dunes driving in my life! Surging down the dune was also very fun! As well as seeing many different camels. Unfortunately the bbq was canceled due to some regulations, but we also got some money back. In any case, that was a very pleasant desert visit!
Malik was a great guide, aswell as the awesome dune bashing he took us camel riding, dune bugging and sandboarding. We had a great time
I had a great time on the Abu Dhabi Desert Safari, Camel Ride & Sandboarding tour! It was a fun experience from beginning to end and a great opportunity to get out into the desert and experience something completely different. The driver was awesome—friendly, professional, and made the entire experience enjoyable. The desert driving was especially memorable, and the camel ride and sandboarding added even more variety to the experience. Overall, it was a great time and definitely one of the experiences I would recommend while visiting Abu Dhabi!
It was an Amazing tour operated by Aamir, Aamir took us to a variety of places to see camels, beautiful dunes and some hidden spots in the desert. I would recommend it 100%! We managed to see a beautiful sunset, riding a quad bike, plenty of photo opportunities and the dune bashing was more fun than any rollercoaster. Aamir was also able to tell us a lot about the UAE and we enjoyed having conversations with him during the tour.

This day trip was a great way to end our honeymoon. The desert safari was exactly that... a bump 4WD experience- if you get car sick... pls review if this is right for you. We felt really safe with our guide and had a wonderful experience. The activities at the desert, and food were good value for money and the entertainment was hilarious. Definitely recommend!
