Abu Dhabi is about ninety minutes down the coast from Dubai, and a day is genuinely enough to see the things people come for — provided somebody else is driving and the mosque is timed properly.
The Sheikh Zayed Grand Mosque is the centrepiece and the reason to start early. It holds forty thousand people, the floor of the main hall is a single continuous carpet, and the courtyard's marble inlay is worth as much time as the interior. Entry is free; what you are paying for here is the transport, the guide who can tell you what you are looking at, and the abaya provided for women at the door.
⚠️ The mosque is closed to visitors on Friday mornings and dress rules are enforced for everyone: shoulders and knees covered, no tight or sheer fabric. If your day falls on a Friday we will move the mosque to the afternoon.
The rest of the day runs along the Corniche with photo stops at Emirates Palace, the Louvre's dome from the outside, and the Etihad Towers viewpoint. Water is in the vehicle throughout, which in an Abu Dhabi summer is not a small detail — between June and September the walk from the car park to a doorway is its own event.

I had an amazing experience on this trip. Everything was amazing! From pick-up to drop-off, they were very punctual and respectful. We went to the Musk, the Royal Palace, lunch and then to the top of the tower and to the entrance of the Louvre. I could never do so many places in one day. We had time for everything and they gave us our space, it was great! Shout out to our guide Ziad who wqs AMAZING!!! He gave us a lot of information about everything, great history leassons. I think this experience is really worth it if you want to get the best of your day in Abu Dhabi 😍
We had such a wonderful experience with our tour guide on our Abu Dhabi trip! He was incredibly kind, friendly, and genuinely went out of his way to make sure we had a great time.
