Full description
The desert safari for people who do not want a desert safari.
Al Marmoom is a conservation reserve rather than a commercial dune field, and this trip is built around what the desert was for rather than what it can be driven over. There is no dune bashing.
Instead: a traditional welcome at a Bedouin village, a ride in a vintage G-Class across the reserve, a camel caravan rather than a two-minute ride round a pen, a falcon on the glove, and dinner at the Al Marmoom oasis under lights.
Six hours, hotel pickup included, in an air-conditioned vehicle.
The difference in practice is the pace and the crowd. The standard safari is loud and busy and finishes with three hundred people in one camp; this one is quiet, and the animals and the guides are the point rather than the adrenaline.
It suits anyone who is not up for the dune driving — pregnancy, back or neck trouble, motion sickness — and anyone who has done the standard safari already and wants the other version of the same desert.

Our guide Imran gave us a great safe and relaxing drive to the oasis . There he looked after all our needs and gave us a wonderful drive through the oasis with plenty of photo options. The diner was fantastic and they gave us more than we could possibly eat . This was followed by a traditional show with dancers an Arabian horse Camel parade and fire show. There was also a beautiful falcon and night telescopes for star gazing. Overall a great value for money wondiful experience A must do
Guide Saeed was very helpful and made our trip really memorable. Really enjoyed the trip with him.
amazing guide (Saeed) and great experience! Was really worth the money, best thing I've done in Dubai
I had a very nice day in the desert, being looked after by my excellent guide Yousef, from Ocean Air Travels. Yousef made sure I was always happy & he drove very well on the dunes. I enjoyed riding the camels, holding the bird of prey & watching the camel & Arabian Horse shows. The meal was amazing, I haven’t seen that much food in front of me for a long time, I’ll be full for days. It was a very nice experience.
Fantastic, adventure packed day/evening with our friendly, knowledgeable and attentive guide and driver, Nomi. From personal pick up in a luxury 4WD, to the warm welcome at the Bedouin camp, camel ride, jeep tour, dinner and all cultural activities, to drop off at our hotel everything was 5 star. The open air jeep ride through the conservation reserve, wildlife spotting and dune driving was a highlight, as was the impossibly large but delicious meal and Arabian horse show. Everyone was so friendly and helpful without being in our face, and we learned lots, especially from Nomi. No hesitation in recommending, even though not cheap. Just don’t eat all day to leave room for the feast! Thank you Nomi 🙏
This was definitely the highlight of my trip to Dubai, especially with the uncertain times around, it was refreshing and so worth leaving the busy-not-so-busy Dubai to take a step inside the desert and uncover the hidden gems it has. As we were a super small group, it felt like a private tour for sure. I have to give my credits & bggest thanks to guide Imran who made our day special and super calming with some thrill worthy experiences such as the dune bashing and the ride to the base with the convertible G class. I still think about this day a lot and hope travellers will give themselves this mind resetting trip. The day is ended on a hearthy meal note, so please have a light lunch before not to miss on the great food they serve in the middle of a desert under a million star hotel roof (you are in the open & stars are visible!). And somehow all the involved people are great photographers & they never forget to give you the instagram worthy pictures to take back home.
We loved the entire tour! Our guide Ali was fantastic, highly recommended doing this tour if you are in the area, well worth the cost! The dinner was fantastic!
The best day with the best guide! Memories for a lifetime!!! Thank you Saeed
Everything was just great, from the beginning to the end. Excursion was a really wonderful experience, highly recommended. Special mention for our guide Arslan, a very top five star guide.
We had a great trip to the desert with various actions and options, including a ride through the dunes, camel riding, sunset views, fantastic Arabic dish and great shows. Special thanks to our wonderful guide Nomi, who made it an unforgettable day!
