Full description
A standard red dune evening safari with one unusual option attached: a Hatta extension, which takes the day somewhere almost no safari goes.
The safari itself is the familiar and good one — pickup by 4x4, tyres down at the dune line, half an hour of dune driving, sandboarding, a camel ride and sunset over the red sand, then a camp with a BBQ dinner and shows.
Hatta is the difference. It is a Dubai enclave up in the Hajar mountains, about ninety minutes inland, with a turquoise reservoir you can kayak on, a restored heritage village and mountain roads that look nothing like the rest of the emirate. Most visitors never learn it exists.
If you take the extension this becomes a full day rather than an afternoon, and it is the single best way to see that the Emirates has geography beyond sand and towers.
⚠️ Decide the Hatta option at booking. It changes the vehicle, the timing and the pickup, and it cannot be added on the day.
Dune bashing is deliberately rough — flag any pregnancy, back or neck trouble when you book and the driver will take a gentler line.

this activity is an absolute must have experience. our family was absolutely amazed. the value for money is incredible and the support by our guide Salman was incredible. he was knowledgeable, kind, compassionate and brilliant with my daughter. he made sure everyones needs were met and did an incredible job. the whole thing was wonderfully organised and was the best evening we have had on a holiday
The tour and our tour guide Mr G from Oceanair was great, highly recommend!
Ali was a great guide, had an amazing evening at the desert. Thank you so much
this is the best thing you can do in Dubai our guide Salman Khan was really amazing the drive through the dunes was so fun, so much activities and everyone is so nice and polite
Safeer went above and beyond on making our activities better than expected. My wife and I enjoyed the experience very much and we will definitely be coming back again. Thank you Safeer.
Our experience at the Night Safari was amazing, and our guide, Shaukat, was really good and made the experience enjoyable. However, this was our second visit to the same camp, and unfortunately, the level of hospitality this time was not as good as what we experienced during our previous visit. We started at around 7:15 PM, and by 7:45 PM, most of the food and starters had already been cleared. After the starters, there was hardly any food available, which was quite disappointing, especially considering our previous experience at the camp. We really enjoyed the overall experience and appreciate the efforts of the team, but I feel the hospitality and food service could have been much better this time. We barely ate starters.
Unforgettable experience! From start to finish, the desert safari was brilliant, huge shout-out to our tour guide Shah, he was excellent! Extremely friendly, welcoming and knowledgeable, making the whole experience even more enjoyable. We saw so much throughout the evening, including native desert wildlife, camels, a camel show, camel riding and camel feeding. We also got to see a falcon up close, which was amazing. The entertainment was fantastic, with a spectacular fire show and impressive horse show. As night fell, we headed over the dunes, watching the sky fill with stars. We went stargazing and even spotted Venus, while planes passed overhead in the distance — such a beautiful setting. We enjoyed Arabic tea, drinks and local refreshments, adding to the authentic experience. This was so much more than a desert safari — it was adventure, culture, wildlife, entertainment and incredible scenery all in one. Shah made sure everything ran smoothly and kept us entertained throughout.
