Most desert safaris put you in the back of somebody else's 4x4. This one puts you behind the wheel of a buggy, and that is the whole difference ā you drive the dunes yourself rather than being driven across them, on a machine built for exactly this sand.
Pickup is from central Dubai. At the dune line you get the briefing and the kit, and then the buggy: a roll-caged, wide-tyred vehicle that climbs the red dunes under your own throttle. It is the most physical version of a Dubai desert day and the one people who found the standard safari tame come back for.
Afterwards the evening settles into the camp: sand surfing, a barbecue buffet, belly dance and tanoura shows, shisha, henna and a camel ride, with the desert going cold and dark around it.

This product is sold in tiers and the dinner, the shows, the camel ride, the shisha and the henna each depend on which one you pick ā the entry tier is the buggy and the camp, and the extras are added above it.
