Four and a half hours through the new half of Dubai, which is the half most tours rush and this one takes properly.

The route covers Souq Madinat Jumeirah — a modern souk built around waterways with the Burj Al Arab framed at the end of it — then the Palm, Atlantis, Dubai Marina, Bluewaters Island with Ain Dubai, the Museum of the Future with its Arabic calligraphy façade, and a Burj Khalifa photo stop.

Palm Monorail tickets are included, which is the detail worth having: it runs the length of the Palm's trunk to Atlantis and is the only public transport on the island, so you cross it at eye level rather than glimpsing it from a road.

A licensed English-speaking guide travels throughout.

Afternoon is the right slot. The buildings on this route are all glass and steel and they are far better in the last hours of light than at noon, and the Marina at dusk is the single best-looking thing in modern Dubai.

Timely pick-up and good trip . The tour guide Alex was excellent. However drop off was indicated as the hotel which was not the case. We were dropped at Dubai Mall
