Full description

Ten to twelve minutes in the air above the Arabian Gulf, towed behind a boat off JBR, with the Marina skyline on one side and the Palm on the other.

The whole outing runs about an hour, most of which is the boat ride out and the rotation of everyone on board. The flight itself is calmer than people expect — you are winched up gradually from the deck and winched back down onto it, so there is no running start and no landing in the water unless you ask for a dip, which the crew will do on request.

You can fly solo or in tandem, and tandem is the usual choice for anyone nervous. There is no skill involved; you sit in a harness and look.

Instruction, safety gear, towels, drinking water and music on board are included.

Two notes. It is entirely weather-dependent — wind that is fine at ground level can stop flying, and the crew will move you rather than send you up in the wrong conditions. And bring a strap for sunglasses or leave them behind; they are the thing people most often lose over the Gulf.
