Thirty minutes or an hour behind the wheel of a Polaris buggy on the dunes, with an instructor leading and a camel ride afterwards.

Self-drive is the distinction. On a standard safari you are a passenger in a driver's 4x4; here the throttle is yours, and the dunes feel entirely different when you are the one deciding whether to climb one.

The hour option is the one worth taking if the budget allows — thirty minutes goes very quickly once you have stopped being nervous, which takes about ten of them.

Helmet and briefing are included, hotel pickup is optional, and the camel ride can be repeated.

The Bedouin camp with BBQ dinner is an add-on chosen at booking, not part of the base price. If you want the full evening — dinner, shows, shisha — select that option rather than assuming.

⚠️ This is dusty and physical. Wear sunglasses you do not mind scratching and clothes you do not mind ruining, and skip it with back or neck trouble.

Our guides najeep and amadou were great. We had an amazing time on the buggy. It was an incredible experience. Lots of thrills. You get to see so many camels and views of the desert. Guide amadou was amazing at getting pictures of us and videos. Highlight of our holiday to Dubai. We will be back to do this experience again. 5 stars.
