The sunset hour, on a yacht, for about the price of a decent lunch — and on this coast the sunset is the whole argument.

Dubai faces west into the Gulf, so the sun goes down over open water with the skyline behind you rather than in front. From the deck, the towers change colour for about twenty minutes and then the lights come on all at once, which is the moment everybody photographs and few manage well.

There is an air-conditioned lower deck for when the wind picks up, an open upper deck for the view, unlimited chilled water, soft drinks and snacks, and a crew who will take pictures rather than leaving you to it.

An hour, out of Dubai Marina.

Two honest notes. Sunset times move a lot across the year — around 5:30pm in December and past 7pm in June — so check what time your booking actually departs rather than assuming an evening slot. And this is a shared cruise: pleasant and sociable, not private. If you want the boat to yourselves, ask us and we will price a private charter instead.

Excellent value for money, some drinks and food included, the boat ride was very calm and lots of amazing views. Chill, who was the tour guide, was super friendly and helpful. Definitely recommend :)
