Full description

The desert evening most people book puts several hundred visitors in one camp around a single buffet line. This is the version that does not.

The afternoon is familiar — 4x4 pickup, tyres down at the red dune line, half an hour of dune driving, sandboarding, a camel ride and the sunset. What changes is the camp.

VIP here means a private seating area away from the main floor, table service rather than a queue, and enough space that the shows are something you watch rather than something happening behind a crowd. The tanoura, fire and belly dance performances are the same ones; the difference is the vantage point.

Dinner is served rather than collected.

Worth being clear about what this is and is not. It is the same desert and the same drive as a standard safari. If the dune bashing and the dunes are what you came for, the standard evening trip delivers those for a third of the price. This is worth the difference on an occasion, with a group, or for anyone who found the crowd at a standard camp the reason they did not enjoy it.
