Franco Dragone built the shows that made Cirque du Soleil's name and then spent a career making water do things on stage. La Perle is his resident Dubai production, in a purpose-built aqua theatre at Al Habtoor City, and the building is part of the act — the stage floods with around 2.7 million litres of water and drains again in seconds, repeatedly, through the show.
What happens on it is aerial work, high diving from the roof of the theatre, motorcycles, and a cast of around sixty-five performers. There is no dialogue, so nothing is lost in translation and it works for any age.
The theatre is round and steeply raked with no seat far from the stage, though the front rows are officially a splash zone and they are not joking about it.
Runs a little over ninety minutes with no interval.
Lounge access, drinks and snacks depend on which ticket you take, so choose that at the booking stage. Arrive thirty minutes early — latecomers are held at the back until a break in the performance, and in a show this continuous that can be a long wait.

the show is absolutely amazing, completely emersive with truly talented acrobats, dancers, actors and motorcyclists. Bravo to them. well organised with me collecting tickets from the venue. if you are ever in Dubai you must see this from the choreographers of circe du soleil. we were so close to the dancers that we could touch them which made it so much more real
