A day pass to a beach resort on the Palm, which is the straightforward way to spend a Dubai day on good sand without booking a hotel room.
The Palm's inner curve faces back at the mainland, so the view from the sand is the Marina and JBR towers across the water rather than open sea. It is the better view of the two and the reason these resorts are positioned where they are.
A pass gets you the beach, the pool and the loungers. Food and drink are usually charged separately or offset against a minimum spend — check which applies to the option you are booking.
This is the right choice for a rest day between the desert and the city, or for anyone in Dubai in the cooler months who does not want a fifth day of attractions.
Practical notes. The public beaches along Jumeirah are free and perfectly good; what a resort pass buys is a lounger, a towel, a pool and a bar rather than better sand. Between June and September the beach is unusable in the middle of the day and the pool is the actual product.
There is no hotel pickup — a taxi onto the Palm is straightforward.
