A table set on the sand at a Palm Jumeirah beach resort, with the Dubai skyline across the water and the meal served to you where you sit.
It is a set-piece rather than a restaurant — the table, the lighting and the setting are arranged before you arrive — and the resort's kitchen serves the courses out to the beach through the evening.
The view is the reason for the location. The Palm's inner curve faces back at the Marina and JBR towers, so as the light goes the whole skyline lights up in front of you rather than behind.
Sunset timing is the thing to get right, and it moves a long way across the year — around half past five in December, past seven in June. Ask us to check the actual sunset for your date and set the booking around it rather than taking a default slot.
Between June and September this is genuinely uncomfortable until well after dark; a winter booking is a different experience entirely.
Worth saying plainly: this is priced as an occasion, not as dinner. If what you want is good food by the sea, the resort's restaurant costs a fraction. What you are paying for here is the table on the sand.
