The whole boat, for your group, around the Palm — which changes the day completely compared with a shared cruise.

The route runs out of the marina, along the Palm's crescent past Atlantis, out to the Burj Al Arab on its island, and back down the coast with the Marina towers behind. Nothing unusual about the route; every cruise does it. What is different is that the captain works to you: stop where you like, stay as long as you like, swim when you want to.

That last point is the one that matters. Shared cruises rarely stop for swimming because it takes time and not everyone wants it. On a private charter the ladder goes down when you ask.

The boat has deck space, shade and a cabin. Bring your own music and your own food and drink if you want to — most private charters allow it and it costs a fraction of buying on board.

Split between six or eight people this is often cheaper per head than a premium shared cruise, and it is a completely different afternoon. For two people it is an occasion rather than a default.
