Japanese craft classes are taught by practitioners who have usually done the craft for decades, and they teach it properly: calligraphy begins with how to hold the brush and grind the ink; pottery on the wheel produces a cup that is fired and posted to you weeks later; ikebana teaches the three-line structure of a Sogetsu or Ikenobo arrangement; indigo dyeing and washi papermaking are done in the workshops of the towns that specialise in them. Classes run one to three hours, materials are included, and most welcome children with a parent.

We travelled to Ba Na Hills on a private tour with our guide Nhien. Confirmation and pick up was excellent. WOW, what an amazing architectural feat this place is. Beautiful. Nhien was amazing. Very knowledgeable, great English and a delight to speak with. I would definitely recommend Nhien as a tour guide.
