Nagoya is Japan's fourth city and the gateway to the Ghibli Park at Nagakute, opened in 2022 with timed tickets that sell out weeks ahead, to Nagashima Spa Land and its rollercoasters, and to Inuyama, whose castle is one of the twelve original keeps. Nagoya Castle's golden dolphins and the Toyota Commemorative Museum are the city's own sights, and hitsumabushi grilled eel and miso katsu are its food. The Ise Grand Shrine, Shinto's most sacred site, rebuilt every twenty years, is 90 minutes south.

loved how nice and informative my guide's were on both days - Mia for the Ninh Binh tour, and Henry for the Ha Long Bay cruise. The views were all beautiful but the Lying Dragon viewpoint was extremely crowded and a bit dangerous to climb up to the very top. The view was amazing, but it would be nice to go somewhere that wasn't so crowded. Otherwise I loved both experiences, and our guides were fantastic!
