This is a 3-day experience from Ha Long, built around Cycling in Viet Hai Village, Scenic Trang An Boat Ride and Discover Bich Dong Pagoda. It is run by NINH BINH FOOTPRINT TRAVEL, an operator we book with directly rather than through a reseller, which is why we can hold your place with them before we treat your booking as final.
The price covers Transfer Hanoi - Cruise - Ninh Binh - Hanoi, Hotel pick up and drop off, 3 lunches, 2 breakfasts, Swimming and kayaking during the Lan Ha Bay cruise and Room on the cruise. It does not cover Personal expense and Solo travelers extra surcharge of $65 for a private single, so budget for those separately. Visit Cat Ba Island - Kayaking in Lan Ha Bay
7:45 AM: You will be collected from Hanoi Old Quarter and depart to Cat Ba Island. 11:30 AM: Arrive at Cai Beo Habour get on a cruise and check in to the cabin. 12:30 PM: We have lunch before continuing our journey via the islets to the Ba Trai Dao area. 2:30 PM: The cruise sails through Lan Ha Bay. You can start your journey by visiting Dark and Light Caves and the islets by kayaking.
Swmming in Lan Ha Bay & Stay Overnight on Cruise
3:30 PM: Enjoy a swim. This is a great experience, immersed in the crystal-clear waters of the bay. 4:45 PM Return to your cruise boat so you can watch the magnificent sunset over the Gulf of Tonkin. Onboard you may join a traditional cooking class. 7:00 PM: Dinner is served. Enjoy delicious food prepared and served for you by our wonderful onboard catering staff. 9:00 PM: Enjoy the landscape of the bay at night up on the top deck. Try your hand at night squid fishing. Overnight on the cruise.
Cycling in Viet Hai Village
6:00 AM: Begin your new day by taking photos, or enjoying the sunrise from your cabin window or from the sun deck. 7:00 AM: Enjoy breakfast in peaceful beauty of the bay. 8:30 AM: Visit Viet Hai Village on Cat Ba Island and take a bicycle ride through a rainforest tunnel that leads to a village nestled in a valley deep in a national park. Visit a traditional house and greet locals doing their daily work, see their homes, and the village school. Return to the cruise boat for check-out procedure.
Visit Lan Ha Bay and transfer to Ninh Binh
Return to the cruise boat for check-out procedures. 10:45 AM: Whilst cruising back you can enjoy a delightful lunch. 11:45 AM: We return to the quayside in the south of the bay, where our visitors disembark. 12:00 PM: We bid farewell at the Cai Beo port, this is the end of the program. 12:30 PM: The bus will pick you up and depart for Ninh Binh. 4:30 PM: Arrive in Ninh Binh. Drop you off at the homestay. Free time for dinner. Overnight in the homestay.
Visit Mua Cave
7:00 AM: Breakfast will be served at the homestay. Check out of the room. You can leave your luggage at the homestay. 8:30 AM: Our tour guide and van will pick you up at your homestay. 9:30 AM: Visit Mua Cave (Mua means dance) with 500 steps up to the top of Mua Moutain. At the top, you can overview all the nice scenes of Hoa Lu.
Visit Hoa Lu Ancient Capital and have lunch
11:00 AM: Visit Hoa Lu, the ancient royal capital of Viet Nam. 12:30 PM: Enjoy lunch at our restaurant with the great local cuisine.
Scenic Trang An Boat Ride
1:30 PM: Depart to visit a Trang An eco-tourism attraction. You will board a small boat to visit the Trang An cave complex: Sang Cave, Toi Cave, Ba Giot Cave, and Nau Ruou. See the scenery of the mountains and rivers.
Discover Bich Dong Pagoda
4:30 PM: Get on the bus and keep going to visit Bich Dong Pagoda (the oldest pagoda in Ninh Binh). 17:30 PM: Minivan pick you up and return Hanoi 19:30 PM Drop off your hotel in Hanoi. Tour ends .

The activities on this trip were exceptional. The cruise was most enjoyable and the activity on Catba Island was very fun. Tung and company looked after us very well. Where things went awry was the land transport to get us to our homestay. The communication was poor, the bus ride was long and uncomfortable, being dropped in a car park and then needing to seek confirmation on the address of the homestay was disconcerting. The homestay was delightful but wasted a whole day getting there with bus schedules changed. Late to the town. The highlight had to be Thanh Tranh the guide who took us to the
the boat was great. the bus. to homestead did not pick us up until 1 hour after got off of boat, what should have taken 4 hours took 6

Loin de la foule de la baie d'Ha Long. Du kayak sympa. Un cours de cuisine à bord du bateau. Le tour de vélo dans l'île est top. Un bémol sur la partie Ninh Binh : la personne en charge de la Guest House n'était pas très professionnel et le service et la quantité du petit déjeuner très insuffisant ! Cette personne doit être recadrée !
