This is a 3-day experience in Ha Long. It is run by Tam Coc Travel, an operator we book with directly rather than through a reseller, which is why we can hold your place with them before we treat your booking as final.

Nagoya is Japan's fourth city and the gateway to the Ghibli Park at Nagakute, opened in 2022 with timed tickets that sell out weeks ahead, to Nagashima Spa Land and its rollercoasters, and to Inuyama, whose castle is one of the twelve original keeps. Nagoya Castle's golden dolphins and the Toyota Commemorative Museum are the city's own sights, and hitsumabushi grilled eel and miso katsu are its food. The Ise Grand Shrine, Shinto's most sacred site, rebuilt every twenty years, is 90 minutes south.

The cruise section of the trip was excellent. Really lovely accommodation on the boat and very good food and service. Everything was very well organised and all the activities ran very smoothly even though it was quite busy with lots of boats. The scenery is fabulous. The hotel in Tam Coc was just ok. Nothing special. It was nice to have a swimming pool but the food provided in the evening was very basic and not great for a vegetarian. We would have preferred not to have it included. We had a much better meal in town the second night. However all the activities and the guides were great and co

This trip was great but it’s a bit of a bait and switch. The first day on the boat to Ha Long Bay is great and the overnight stay on the boat is as described — fun, a bit luxurious and romantic. The latter two days are literally slimming it in the cheapest dingiest bungalow I’ve ever been to. That’s got its own charm (if you’re into dirty sheets and mid-service) but I’d rather they just cleave charged us more for better accommodations. The excursions/activities and the ride services to get everywhere are top tier, though. That said, book with caution, especially if you think you’re getting lux
