A deluxe ocean-view suite on a five-star cruise working both Ha Long and Lan Ha.
The suite is the product here. An ocean-view room on a cruise boat means you wake up looking at karsts rather than at a corridor, and on a trip where the best hours are dawn and dusk that is not a detail. In-room tea and coffee, bottled water and daily fresh fruit come with it, along with a welcome drink and cold towel on arrival.
The route covering both bays is the other half. Ha Long proper is where the fleet concentrates; Lan Ha, immediately south off Cat Ba, is the same drowned karst with around 300 islands and far fewer boats. Day trips from Hanoi cannot reach Lan Ha at all, so a multi-day cruise is the only way to see the quiet half.
The overnight itself is what people underrate. From late afternoon the day boats leave and the bay empties; dinner, night and sunrise all happen with the water almost to yourself. By the time the day fleet returns you have already had the best of it.
One detail that applies across this bay and not just this boat: air conditioning in cabins runs to a schedule, usually overnight rather than continuously, so the deck is warm during the day.

The Surprise Cave was amazing to see. Worth the trip on its own
Overall a good tour. We are so glad we did the 2 night tour instead of 1. On the full day in the middle we were transferred to a day boat with others and were able to explore much less touristy areas of the bay. That day was very relaxed and we saw a lot more of the bay. The over tourism and crowds in the main area on the first day ruined it more than I expected. The cave on the last day was incredible!! The boat was nice and our room was comfortable, the staff were very friendly but the food was hit and miss (timing, quality and quantity).

Our experience was super. Everything is settled up accurately, from the transfer, to the activities, to the personal preferences (such as special requests for the menus). People who are managing the cruise are kind and funny and they know what they are doing. Me and my husband spent three days plenty of relax, comfortable staying and great activities here in Ha Long Bay. Everyone is supportive and caring and we cannot have asked for more.
