This is a 3-hour experience in Hanoi. It is run by Lite Travel, an operator we book with directly rather than through a reseller, which is why we can hold your place with them before we treat your booking as final.
Japanese food tours work because the best places are small, unmarked and full of regulars, and a guide who orders for you opens them. An izakaya crawl covers yakitori, sashimi, karaage and the local pours of sake, shochu and highballs across three or four counters in an evening; a ramen walk explains the broths, tonkotsu, shoyu, miso and shio, and the regional styles. Most places seat eight to twelve and tours run six to eight guests for that reason. Vegetarians should say so when booking, because dashi stock is fish and hidden in almost everything; halal-certified options exist but are fewer.

Messi was brilliant, gave info on cultural history, show us how to wrap spring rolls. food was good and some unusual. we ask to have a egg coffee, Messi took us to a hidden coffee shop which we enjoyed. the highlight was train street, Messi took care of us, found seats for us at cafe. very atmospheric and exciting for our first time. Overall trip was excellent.
This was a wonderful tour, full with little Viernamese food gems! John and Wuw did a great job and we would never have experienced these flavours and these little shops without them!
Had a brilliant time on the Hanoi food and Train Street tour. The food was banging , so much variety and all of it tasty. Doris, our guide, was a total star , super friendly, knew loads about the area and made the whole thing really fun. Loved walking through the tiny streets, trying local dishes and watching the train whizz past so close! Definitely recommend if you fancy a proper taste of Hanoi.

Jenna was FANTASTIC! She asked for our preferences in advance to craft the perfect itinerary, was super punctual and friendly and made us feel warmly welcomed. Her English was PERFECT and she shared a lot of information about Vietnam and typical food with us. We had a great time with Messi. He showed us many places in old quarter and train street for 3+ hours. His food selection was excellent, and customised to our preference. He also explained history and tradition of Vietnam.
Jenna our guide was wonderful. She introduced us to some amazing Vietnamese food and was very informative as we walked through the many streets and alley ways of the Old Quarter of Hanoi. Highly recommend Jenna and this tour.
