This is a 3-hour experience in Hoi An. It is run by Hanoi Street Food Tour, an operator we book with directly rather than through a reseller, which is why we can hold your place with them before we treat your booking as final.
Japanese food tours work because the best places are small, unmarked and full of regulars, and a guide who orders for you opens them. An izakaya crawl covers yakitori, sashimi, karaage and the local pours of sake, shochu and highballs across three or four counters in an evening; a ramen walk explains the broths, tonkotsu, shoyu, miso and shio, and the regional styles. Most places seat eight to twelve and tours run six to eight guests for that reason. Vegetarians should say so when booking, because dashi stock is fish and hidden in almost everything; halal-certified options exist but are fewer.

This was a wonderful experience. My guide was friendly, knowledgeable, and very patient. I had some stomach issues from accidentally eating dairy that morning, but she was very helpful in making sure I didnt make it any worse, even offering alternatives to finish the tour later if needed, however it all worked out and we were able to finish the tour. Hoi An is a very beautiful and vibrant place. I can't wait for the chance to come back!

We had an excellent day with Phi Phi working our way around all of the top dishes of Hoi An. Phi Phi was very knowledgeable, and was always checking in on how we were going which was lovely. We ate so much food throughout the few hours we had together, and came away very full. Every place we went was amazing, and it felt like Phi Phi was taking us to the best spots, including a few things we wouldn’t have thought to try without them being part of the tour. A great day!!
