Full description
This is a 6-hour experience from Sapa, built around Bus/coach. It is run by Sapa Trekking Hiking Tours, an operator we book with directly rather than through a reseller, which is why we can hold your place with them before we treat your booking as final.
Japan's outdoors is organised: trails are marked, mountain huts are booked, and the walking routes with history, the Nakasendo post road between Magome and Tsumago and the Kumano Kodo pilgrimage in Wakayama, are done in comfortable day stages with luggage forwarded. Cycling tours use the flat river paths and back streets that cars avoid. The summer heat from July to September makes early starts essential in the cities and lowlands, while the mountains are cool. Winter turns Hokkaido and Nagano into ski country from December to March, with the powder that Niseko and Hakuba are known for.
The price covers Hotel pickup and drop-off, Village entry fee, guide, Lunch at village and 1.5 litre of water per person per day. It does not cover Travel insurance, Tip for guides and driver and Extra drinks at villages, so budget for those separately. Everything included is listed in full on this page; if something is not on that list, assume it is not in the price.

The communication before the tour was great so that we knew what to expect and bring. Our guide was lovely and gave lots of interesting information. We didn’t feel well as we’d been previously ill and the company was so accommodating in taking us down the mountain sooner and arranging a taxi for us to get back to our hostel.
Really stunning! The guide will meet you at your hotel and you start walking right away. Beautiful mountain views and our guide Pang Chau was amazing - super nice, funny, and knowledgeable about the surrounds. It was extra great because it was just our booking group with the one guide, so we could ask whatever questions we wanted and go at a pace that suited us (quite slow, but Pang Chau was very patient with us). The hike was a big hill with quite a rough track so it was hard at times and you had to watch your footing but the stunning views were worth it. Lunch was really great as well even t
Het was een stevige wandeling, mag is duidelijker in de omschrijving. Je moet over afsluitingen kruipen, langs en door rivierbeddingen wandelen. De uitzichten maken het wel allemaal de moeite waard! De gids was vriendelijk maar haar Engels was echt niet goed. We kregen ook niet super veel uitleg. We liepen regelmatig naast een andere groep en het verschil met hun gids was groot. Halfweg de wandeling werden we plots vergezeld door 2 “vriendinnen” van de gids die ons op het einde van alles probeerden te verkopen. Zo gezegd zelfgemaakte dingen die je toch evengoed in centrum Sa Pa ziet. De gids z
Wir wurden von Chi bei dieser Aktivität geführt. Wir verständigten uns auf Englisch. Chi erklärte uns viel über die Kulturen in den Bergdörfern.Wir waren sehr überwältigt,von dieser Kultur und dies auch sehen zu können.Das Mittagessen war frisch und hat uns sehr gut geschmeckt.Chi beantwortete uns jede Frage.Die ca. 15 km waren anspruchsvoll,aber jeder Meter war es wert. Recomendable 100% si quieres hacer un treking de montaña, conocer los pueblos y culturas locales y pasear entre arrozales. La guía es excepcional, nos ha explicado todo y ha contestado a todas las preguntas y curiosidades que teníamos. Atenta en todo momento, nos ha hecho pasar un día inolvidable. Íbamos con dos adolescentes y lo han disfrutado igual. El recorrido es muy variado y precioso, como para no perdérselo.
