This is a 3-day experience in Sapa. It is run by Vietnam Vacations Travel, an operator we book with directly rather than through a reseller, which is why we can hold your place with them before we treat your booking as final.

Japan's outdoors is organised: trails are marked, mountain huts are booked, and the walking routes with history, the Nakasendo post road between Magome and Tsumago and the Kumano Kodo pilgrimage in Wakayama, are done in comfortable day stages with luggage forwarded. Cycling tours use the flat river paths and back streets that cars avoid. The summer heat from July to September makes early starts essential in the cities and lowlands, while the mountains are cool. Winter turns Hokkaido and Nagano into ski country from December to March, with the powder that Niseko and Hakuba are known for.

The hike was nice and also the tourguide. We enjoyed the homestay. However the program was not as advertised. Due to that we had a long trail in the afternoon when we arrived in Sapa. Of which more that an hour in the dark. Strange to do a long trail in half a day. Next day from the homestay the trail was only 1 hour. Due to that we had a lot of time spare. It could have saved us a day in Sapa
