This is a 2-day experience in Sapa. It is run by Francophone Trek Sapa, an operator we book with directly rather than through a reseller, which is why we can hold your place with them before we treat your booking as final.

Japan's outdoors is organised: trails are marked, mountain huts are booked, and the walking routes with history, the Nakasendo post road between Magome and Tsumago and the Kumano Kodo pilgrimage in Wakayama, are done in comfortable day stages with luggage forwarded. Cycling tours use the flat river paths and back streets that cars avoid. The summer heat from July to September makes early starts essential in the cities and lowlands, while the mountains are cool. Winter turns Hokkaido and Nagano into ski country from December to March, with the powder that Niseko and Hakuba are known for.

Trek très intéressant et de magnifiques paysages du début à la fin. Les arrêts repas sont parfaits et le guide était très sympathique. Attention tout de même, c'est assez intense physiquement (éviter les sacs à dos trop lourds) même si le guide nous a gentiment trouvé une solution ! On aurait juste aimé un peu plus d'informations sur les ethnies rencontrées en chemin. La famille du guide n'était pas présente pour la nuit entre les 2 journées, c'est un peu dommage car cela a limité les échanges.
