Bitte vor der Buchung beachten: Die Abteilung fuer Wildschutz hat die Bloecke 1 und 2 des Yala-Nationalparks vom 14. September bis 15. Oktober 2026 wegen Trockenheit geschlossen, daher koennen Safaris in diesen Bloecken an diesen Daten nicht stattfinden. Die Bloecke 3 bis 6 bleiben geoeffnet, und Udawalawe und Wilpattu sind nicht betroffen; fuer Reisen in diesem Zeitraum kontaktieren wir Sie, um die Safari in einen dieser Parks oder auf ein Datum nach dem 15. Oktober zu verlegen. Udawalawe ist der staerkere Park fuer Elefanten; Wilpattu bietet ruhigere Leopardensichtungen.

Yala liegt suedoestlich von Ella auf der Strasse zur Kueste, weshalb der Transfertag der richtige Tag dafuer ist. Dies ist die geteilte Version, die den Preis auf einen Bruchteil des privaten Aequivalents fuer denselben Park und dieselben Stunden senkt.

Block 1 haelt die hoechste je erfasste Leopardendichte der Welt. Er haelt auch, an einem belebten Morgen in der Saison, rund dreihundert Jeeps. Beide Tatsachen stimmen, und Sie sollten in Kenntnis beider buchen: Dies ist der wahrscheinlichste Ort der Welt, einen wild lebenden Leoparden zu sehen, und es ist keine Wildnis.

Der Rest des Parks wird unterschaetzt. Lippenbaeren sind hier und schwerer zu sehen als Leoparden, was sie zur besseren Sichtung macht. Elefanten, Wasserbueffel, Sumpfkrokodile, und ueber zweihundert Vogelarten einschliesslich einer starken Wintermigration.

Die Pirschfahrt im Morgengrauen ist jene, die funktioniert. Tiere bewegen sich im ersten Licht und suchen gegen neun Uhr Schutz, und gegen elf Uhr ist der Park nur noch Jeeps und Hitze.

Nach der Fahrt sind es etwa zwei Stunden bis zur Kueste, sodass Sie am frueren Nachmittag ankommen, wenn der Tag noch nutzbar ist.

We had an absolutely fantastic day! The pick-up and transfer overall was very smooth and reliable. The safari itself was absolutely amazing thanks to our experienced guide Srimal. He was not only fun but he knows exactly how to behave around the animals and how to spot them. As he really knows his way around the park we were able to see one leopard, many many elephants and all sorts of other animals. I highly recommend this tour and especially the tour guide Srimal.

I was picked up from the hotel at around 3 AM, and then it was a two-hour drive to Yala. The safari lasted about five hours, from 6 to 11 AM. I arrived in Ella between 2 and 3 PM. Both the driver and the safari guide were excellent. The pickup and drop-off time were arranged via WhatsApp the night before.

What an amazing day, being picked up in Ella just to be so lucky and see so many different animals, super amazed by leopards. To later being dropped off in Matara and finish the day with a beach sunset. Couldn’t be happier.

We started at 2.30am from Ella with a really nice car and arrived couple hours later to Yala. At Yala i was picked up to safari and after we collected few other people also, we drove inside the Yala park to see animals during the sunrise. We saw leopard, elephants, crocodile and plenty of other animals also. And like that would have not been enough, after we took a less than 2 hour ride to Mirissa and still had a whole afternoon and evening to enjoy the beach. Just a perfect day.
