Nara fue la primera capital permanente de Japón, desde 710 hasta 784, y su parque alberga Todai-ji, cuyo Salón del Gran Buda es uno de los edificios de madera más grandes del mundo y contiene un Buda de bronce de 15 metros fundido en 752, Kasuga Taisha con sus tres mil linternas, y unos 1.200 ciervos sika que se consideran mensajeros de los dioses y están protegidos. Nara está a 45 minutos de Kyoto u Osaka en tren y es medio día; Todai-ji antes de las 10:00 es la hora tranquila.

We had a great day with Joe our guide. He was knowledgeable and answered all our questions. This tour was exactly what we wanted. Thankyou Joe for a wonderful day, I loved the deer, the temples and the little bit of shopping we did. I recommend this tour to anyone wanting to explore Nara on foot.

The day didn’t go well. The tour guide didn’t have much knowledge about Nara historic sites. She couldn’t provide any history information. We ended the tour about one hour. She was dismissed and sent home.

The Nara Tour was a wonderful mix of history and nature. Todai-ji Temple, with its Great Buddha, was truly awe-inspiring, showcasing the grandeur of ancient Japan. Nara Park, where we fed the friendly deer, added a fun and unique touch to the day. The tour was well-paced, giving just the right amount of time at each spot. It's an ideal way to explore Nara’s cultural highlights in a short visit.
