Les sites d'Ella sont peu nombreux, proches les uns des autres et gratuits, ce qui les rend faciles a mal visiter. La journee commence sur Little Adam's Peak a la premiere lumiere, 45 minutes sur un sentier en escaliers pour la vue a travers l'Ella Gap, la raison pour laquelle la plupart des gens mettent cette ville sur leur liste. Descente pour le petit-dejeuner, puis le pont aux neuf arches alors qu'un train est attendu: 91 metres de viaduc en pierre, 24 metres au-dessus d'une gorge, construit pendant la Premiere Guerre mondiale sans aucun acier car l'acier est alle en Europe.

La boucle de Demodara est la piece que presque personne ne voit. Le chemin de fer fait un cercle complet sous lui-meme pour gagner de l'altitude, passant sous la gare qu'il vient de quitter, et c'est une veritable curiosite d'ingenierie a quelques minutes de route.

Un court trajet en train entre Demodara et Ella vous place sur la ligne plutot qu'a cote. Les cascades de Ravana, la grotte de Ravana et une tyrolienne au-dessus de la vallee remplissent l'apres-midi, et vous etes de retour avant la nuit.
